Two Jaw Harmonic Bearing Puller and Gear Puller Universal Bearing Puller Tool or Pullers for Mechanics Heavy-Duty Pilot Bearing Removal Tool Small Bearing Puller

JAW END DIMENSIONS approximately 0.880" wide x 0.350" thick Note: The conical centering piece at the end of the threaded screw comes off if you pull it. It is retained by friction from an o-ring. This puller worked great to remove a Volvo 940 harmonic balancer (crank pulley). The jaw ends will fit through the pulley slots and the tool is short enough so you can operate it without having to remove the radiator fan and/or radiator. 1) Reinsert the crank bolt, without the washer, but only thread it in about halfway. 2) Take the jaw arms off the crosspiece and hook them into the crank pulley with hooks pointing to center. The jaw arms will flare outwards which will help keep the hooks engaged 3) Pull off the conical centering piece from the puller's lead screw, and thread in the screw so only about 1" travel is remaining. 4) Engage the puller crosspiece to the puller jaw arms. 5) Unscrew crank bolt a bit if it does not contact the puller lead screw end 6) Use box wrench to turn puller screw, hold on to puller arms to keep pulley from turning Et voila.

I tried try a couple different designs before selecting the Shankly. This was the most versatile for depth and circumference for my different cars and it gets the job done. It uses 12mm bolt adjusters and 15mm bolt for the lever, so I needed to switch sockets to get all the placements set. Fortunately the threads are all high quality so i was able to finger tighten to get the alignments started, then finish with the 15mm socket wrench.

Likes: Sturdy and easy to use in circumstances with shaft that extends past the bearing. The jaws gripped well in the limited space available. Dislikes: The center screw needs to be about 1" longer… I had to improvise an extension to the center screw to facilitate removal of a small bearing off from a table saw motor. This was the project for which I purchased this puller.

Works well. So far, I've used it for pitman arms & steering wheel removal on an old Ford tractor

Bought this to remove a bearing from a DRpro 400 wood chipper. As others have mentioned the bolts holding the arms are cheap and will strip out as soon as any pressure is applied. Swapped these out for flange bolts with washers (like schedule 8 bolts). Next challenge was keeping the arms on the bearing . Used a C Clamp for this. Next challenge keeping the arms parallel. Used a piece of hardwood cut to shaft diameter , in my case 1 1/4" , with a 5/8" hole in the middle to push the threaded shaft through up to the base of the arms . tightened the arms to this piece. Next challenge holding the assembly so I could tighten the puller shaft. Used a 4' pipe clamp at the base of the arms where the wooden spread block was. Next challenge was not Hugh shaft length to full pull the nearing off the shaft. I loosened the threaded puller shaft back and put a 1/2 " socket inside and tightened with enough added pull to get the shaft off. Gave it 3 rating because it eventually worked , It did not break , and I now know the system to have it work effectively.

Nice tool for the money... Very sturdy and not flimsy at all. Reversed the legs and used it to remove hard to reach bearing races.

I got this to help in removing battery cables and avoiding the display of red indicating fluid. It works great at being able to lift stuck terminals from the battery without damage to any of my digital extremities or the battery surroundings. I like that the jaw width is horizontally adjustable with respect to the puller so it can reach into some tight places.

I tried 4 different pullers with failure to get steering wheel off my boat, this one was exactly what I needed. Very sturdy, doesn't bend, pulls straight 💪. Coul not be happier for $30.

This is perfect for undoing bearings on tights space and small pulley , heavy duty works great.
