The sections are not air right but if you put in fruit that has been well drained/isn’t enormously wet, it’s fine. I don't have this size container, but it will hold slightly more than two quarts, so I'd just put your salad into a measuring cup (1 qt., if you have that size), to see if this size would work. I believe you could make a pretty good size salad for this container.
