Affordable scale that works!
I really like this scale! I've started adding strength training to my weight loss journey and I really wanted to be able to see changes in body fat vs. muscle rather than just weight. This scale will give you your weight, percent body fat, percent skeletal muscle, muscle mass, bone mass, BMR, percent subcutaneous fat, visceral fat, and a few other metrics. It's very easy to set up, connects to Bluetooth easily, and you can actually use the scale several times without connecting and it will save your data until you do connect. You can also have multiple profiles for multiple users. There's an interesting feature called althlete mode which is recommended for people who work out a lot. One recommendation I found was to use it if you work out five hours per week over at least three days. These scales work by measuring the resistance of an electrical current moving through your body. The current moves through fat and muscle differently. This results in a pretty accurate estimation of body fat percentage, but the scale needs to do some algorithmic work to estimate the other metrics (which is why they ask for height and gender and offer athlete mode). My gym has a big, expensive machine (which costs $10 per weigh-in to use) which I assume is reasonably accurate. I used both modes to see which matched up. Percent body fat, subcutaneous fat, and visceral fat was the same in both modes and matched up pretty close to the gym machine. However, the various muscle measurements and BMR widely varied between modes. For example, there was an 800 Calorie difference in BMR and a 80 pound difference in muscle mass! The athlete mode was much closer to the gym machine, but values for muscle and BMR were still a bit higher. Muscle was about 30 pounds higher and BMR was about 200 Calories higher compared to the gym. I think part of this could be that I'm considerably overweight so the scale algorithms don't quite work as well as they would for someone closer to a normal weight, and the way fat and muscle is distributed throughout the body can also affect the results. I perceive the gym machine as being more accurate because it has handles as well, so the current can be measured in the hands as well as the feet, which would give a better full-body measurement. Overall, though, I am pleased with the scale and it gives me consistent measurements. So I can track my progress, even if some of the values aren't super accurate. As long as the scale is consistent with itself (and it is), that's what's most important.

The best scale your money can buy!!
I have owned this scale for about 2 1/2 years and just recently purchased another one. It’s going to sound disingenuous and silly but this simple, ~$25 scale is in my top-10 life purchases and that’s not a joke. Why so..? This scale, in association with the FITINDEX app (and admittedly the Happy Scale app) have really allowed me to set realistic weight and fat % goals for myself and determine over several months what drives those numbers up and down. You can stand on this scale and upload measurements every day or you can stand on it daily for many days (30?) and it will store your measurements in the scale until you connect the app. Connecting the app couldn’t be simpler - be near the scale with your phone either immediately or within a few minutes of standing on it, open the app and it will load your metrics. It’s really very impressive. The scale can be used by multiple people in the same household and each will get a private view of their own weight/body-fat-%/BMI (etc.) history via the app. The FITINDEX app is great - you can set weight and body-fat-% goals and it help tell you how close you are to those and trends on many other metrics. The Happy Scale app sees the same health data via my phone and performs some running-averages analysis that helps provide a view of trends as it evens out the plus/minus we should all expect day-to-day from eating, drinking, digesting, eliminating at different amounts and times of the day/week. It has proven to be as accurate as the handheld ‘bioelectric impedance’ devices for me and so much more convenient to use. Even if you don’t use any apps it is still a very functional and easy to use scale. Get one - you won’t be disappointed!

Highly Accurate? I think so
REVIEW SUMMARY For those of us committed to changing our body shapes, this scale seems to give you the hard data you need to do it right. NOTE: I'll confirm this definitely or not over the next 3 to 4 months and come back and update this review. Until then, I simply can't give it 5 stars yet. But that's only because I can't be certain yet. If the product continues to demonstrate its apparent accuracy to me over time, it will more than deserve 5 stars. In the meantime, this does appear to be one of the most accurate scales on the market today--and the price is fantastic! DETAIL I rarely write reviews. But this product seems to be a game changer for those of us committed to living more healthy, losing fat and/or gaining muscle. I'm both a fitness and tech geek, and this product meets me in both places in great ways. This review is my way of showing thanks. I used to have an OMRON bluetooth scale (ugg, do NOT get that!!!). This FITINDEX scale shows that I have a much lower bodyfat percentage than the OMRON scale, by over 10%! I always thought the OMRON scale was wrong, because it said I had a 30% bodyfat and I just didn't have the belly to show for it. This FITINDEX scale puts me at around 18.6% bodyfat, and that seems about right based on how my bodyfat has been measured by other means in the past (at a gym, with calipers). Another reviewer had remarked that they also had been tested at their gym with a very expensive, professional-grade scale, and that this scale showed numbers very close to the professional-grade scale. It was that review that convinced me to dump the OMRON scale and start using this one. I am SO very glad I did! The app that goes with the scale is easy to use and to pair with the scale--be sure to follow the directions carefully as you do. I didn't follow the directions the first time and frustrated myself. Once I got the directions out I was like "oh, that was actually easy!" The scale itself does not show anything other that your weight. But you have the app open and your phone nearby as you step on the scale, once it has been paired with the app linked to the scale, it will automatically send the data to the app so you can then read all the additional info. As a fitness junkie and tech geek I loved all the data, but you can just use what works for you. The app will show trends over time. A FEW NOTES ABOUT USING THE SCALE and WALKING YOUR FAT LOSS or MUSCLE GAIN JOURNEY: If you are trying to lose weight (or gain it) I recommend weighing yourself first thing when you wake up every single day. Keep in mind that the body can fluctuate in weight by as much as 3 lbs or so due to water retention and other factors, including stress, food, exercise, and more. I like to think of my fat loss and muscle gain efforts as a journey, not a race. In a race, if you fall behind or move backwards, you are immediately screwed, so that is NOT the way to think about these things. Instead, in any journey we already know there will be ups and downs--but as you move along your path you are still moving closer to your goal ("to get to the top of fat loss mountain," for me). So do not be discouraged by the daily up and down fluctuations. Instead, just commit to recording yourself each day, knowing that it will bob up and down based on a ton of factors, and that what you are seeking from this daily record it to see **the average of the daily changes over time**. I tend to look back over the last 7 days to get a sense of where I am. Look at the trends, not the day-to-day. You do not want to care about the daily changes. You DO want to care about the trends. Another Important and often overlooked factor in fat loss: Many people when they lose weight fail to workout their muscles sufficiently. And, as the adage goes, "what you do not use, you lose." So, if you try to lose fat yet do not workout your muscles sufficiently OR eat enough protein, you will lose both fat AND muscle and become "skinny fat." This scale is great in that it can help you see how you are doing in maintaining your muscle mass as you lose weight, in addition to tracking your fat percentage. If you see yourself losing muscle mass, it may inspire you to focus more on retaining the muscle you still have. Here is a little motivation: Muscle burns more calories than fat does, so in the metabolic game holding onto the muscle you have is critical to maintaining your body weight once you lose the fat. If you become "skinny fat," the body will have less resources to draw from in order to maintain the weight, so you'll probably put the fat back on--this time, with less muscle. NOT good. Don't become skinny fat. If you are skinny fat, or have low muscle mass, don't despair though. Just start a weight training program, and muscle will start coming back on. Though the adage "what you do not use, you lose" is true, it is also true that the body has a "muscle memory." That is, it remembers the muscle it used to have. By using your muscles, you can get the muscle back that you may have lost, and more easily than the first time you put it on. Both losing fat and gaining muscle are VERY difficult and take serious effort. From what I understand about the body, I do not think there will ever be a magic pill to help us lose the pounds without effort, nor gain muscle without BOTH feeling the burn and eating for muscle growth. A tip on that: Eat 30 - 60 grams of 1:1 pea and rice protein several times a day to trigger a "muscle growth activation cycle"-- but that only works if you are also feeling serious muscle burn in the gym. When you are in the gym, you have to feel your muscles ache. As a trainer once said to me, "There is good pain, and bad pain. We want good pain." No pain, no gain. BACK TO THE SCALE I love, in addition to measuring bodyfat, how well the scale seems to measure both water weight and muscle mass. I also love how the data it reveals to you is compared with averages, to see how you are doing generally. For example, as an aspiring bodybuilder, I was pleased to see that (as my mirror shows me), yes, I do indeed have significantly more muscle mass than the average person. Bottom line: As I said above, For those of us committed to changing our body shapes, this scale does give you the hard data you need to do it right. I am planning to lose more weight over the next 3 to 4 months, so I will update this review as I approached a "ripped" state to let you know if I still agree with my assessment. For now the scale gets 4 stars instead of 5 ONLY because I don't know for certain yet how accurate it truly is. Once I'm at a ripped state, we'll see if its numbers match what I can see in the mirror. If it does, I'll change my rating to 5. In the meantime, this scale is definitely worth the price, as it is far more accurate for sure than many of the other scales out there.

Great scale.
I have a traditional scale but this scale is unbeatable for the price. Measures everything. I still kept my old friend scale I’ve used for years but this one is helping me with awareness of my whole health picture. The price - so good.

Accurate, easy to use, and the app gives great information
This brand of biometric scale was recommended by a doctor I follow, and for the money it is a winner. The Bluetooth connectivity to my phone was seamless, and the app itself is quite impressive. I've found it to be pretty accurate in its readings as compared to the similar one at the gym. You need to be barefooted when using it. After the measurements are sent to the app on my phone I hear a series of pleasant chimes. I use this scale at least first thing in the morning and sometimes several times a day. I am very happy with my purchase and can recommend this scale.

Good, affordable scale
All in, value for money scale. Read the other comments about the app not having a (long) history. Doesn't quite bother me. Overall, easy to set up. Reads fast and well. Pleasantly surprised!
