Have come to appreciate MikroTik's offerings. Got this to help isolate a few systems from the rest of my network - this unit is probably a better switch than a router - but it has Mikrotik's RouterOS on out of the box, which offers the kind of features I'd expect in an Enterprise level system. I'd probably not recommend this for every household, but its a great bit of kit if you've got experience and want enterprise like features. One small grouch - would be great if they'd include an SFP or choice of SFP with the base model, but I suppose that would increase the cost too.

I trust Mikrotik and there built to last.

Upgraded my bandwidth to 1200 mb/s, so I needed something that could handle it. Bought a 1.25 gig capable transceiver and slapped it in. No joy. Disabled auto negotiate and manually set its advertised speed - now it works like a charm. 99% of people reading this know what they're getting into. For those of you who don't, this probably isn't the product for you. It's not user friendly at all.

MikroTik famously includes the full version of RouterOS with every product they ship, from enterprise grade appliances to these home units. It's an excellent way to get into advanced networking without spending a lot of money. In particular I was able to configure VLANs to separate IoT device, home devices, and work machines - something normal products would struggle with.

Ich betreibe den Router in einem Failover-Netzwerk mit mehreren WAN-Verbindungen, bei dem die Umschaltung bei einem Ausfall nahtlos und zuverlässig erfolgt. Die gesamte Konfiguration – inklusive Firewall-Regeln und Routing – lässt sich präzise und flexibel umsetzen. Mit RouterOS hat man volle Kontrolle. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die komfortable Script-Funktionalität, mit der sich Automatisierungen einfach und effizient realisieren lassen – ein Traum für alle, die mehr aus ihrem Netzwerk herausholen wollen. In meinem Setup sind über 80 Geräte per LAN und WLAN verbunden – darunter PCs, Server, IoT-Geräte und Smart-Home-Komponenten. Der Router meistert diese Last problemlos. Auch mein HomeAssistant-System läuft absolut stabil und reaktionsschnell – keine Latenzen, keine Verbindungsabbrüche. Gleiches gilt für VPN-Verbindungen. Die Systemstabilität ist hervorragend, selbst unter Dauerlast. Der L009UiGS-RM läuft leise, zuverlässig und mit beeindruckender Effizienz – ideal für anspruchsvolle Heimnetzwerke oder professionelle Umgebungen im Rack. Wer maximale Kontrolle, Flexibilität und Stabilität sucht, wird mit diesem Router mehr als zufrieden sein. Klare Empfehlung für Power-User und Netzwerk-Enthusiasten!

this is a great device to act as gateway / router/ firewall with professional settings. All it is missing is a semi transparent mode in pppoe to get a wan ip and give it to the lan device behind it. But this is for a really specific use case.
