I purchased it for my husband, who is the pickiest person regarding coffee. Unfortunately, this espresso maker did not meet his satisfaction, simply because he was unable to make his coffee stronger due to the reservoir being too small in conjunction with the amount of water needed. Since he is the only one to use the espresso maker, I ended up having to return it. The seller was very concerned about my request for the return, because they have pride in their product. She wanted to find out what expectations they were not meeting. It makes better coffee than my old aluminum Bialetti -- smoother & richer. Not quite espresso, but then neither is Bialetti. My only gripe is that the narrow (¼"), deep (1") trench at the bottom of the pot is tough to clean. A straw-cleaning brush would be the right size, but they don't have bristles on the end so you'd be scratching the bottom of the pot unless you could bend the brush in just the right way. Still, I do recommend the pot.
