Great deal
I bought this for my grandmother and she and loves it. She likes all the accessories/slides included in the kit. Definitely kid and elder friendly.

Great For kids , but much better quality
I Will start with the only negative that I have is that it only comes with two blank slides. Not even enough to consider removing a star. It was easy to assemble. My daughter was able to do it all herself , and she's seven. She's been having a great time checking out different things with the With the pre made slides. Bringing stuff in.... Quality of the image is actually great. We haven't done too much with the tech side of it more just looking at it. It'S metal and not plastic and oh my god does that matter

Photo 1 is an extract powder. Photo 2 is that powder zoomed in just 25x. Goes up to 2000x
This thing is AWESOME! I don't care that it says it's for kids. It goes up to 2000x and has a phone holder with a hole for your camera to take pictures through the microscope lens. I have an extraction company, and I put one of my products on a glass slide and zoomed in about 100x, and it's so cool how crystals look under the microscope vs. regular eyesight. It's not an SEM, but let's be real, for under $50, this thing is a steal, and it came with literally everything you need to use it. Very easy to focus. Lots of fun, and sturdy - made of metal, not plastic.

For price, a good value
Overall, this microscope (we bought the A option) is a good value based on the price. It feels like a quality product, not just cheap plastic. The lenses provided are clear and provide surprisingly good magnification. The instructions are horrible, though. They don't really explain how to setup or use the microscope, or clearly identify each piece and how it works (or when to use it). Still, it's easy to figure out after some trial and error. I do want to specifically flag something that made me think ours was broken. Out of the box the LED light for our unit was out of battery. When we went to plug it in the light turned on. The instructions make clear in several places that when the unit is charging you are not supposed to use the light. There is a little wheel on the light to turn it off and make it dimmer or brighter. No matter what I did the light stayed on. I assumed ours was broken. When we came back later the light was off. And I realized that when you plug in the unit to charge it, the light turns (but dim) and then turns off to let you know it is charged. Again, this is something that would have been very helpful in the instructions considering how many times the instructions emphasize not to use the light when it is charging. I am attaching photos showing the light in low power mode when charging versus when the unit is charged and you actually turn the light on. We bought a separate lot of prepared slides and my son is really enjoying the microscope.

Perfect for Homeschoolers
I am so pleased. I got this for my homeschooler's science needs. It works so well! The clarity of the microscope is impeccable, it's so easy to use and focus, I love the viewer. I had been warned that sometimes viewers can really lose clarity over looking straight through the lens, but I'm very happy with the level of detail. I'm stunned I was able to get this level of quality for the price, I had expected to spend much more money.

Pretty neat.
For $60 bux, definitely one of the cooler purchases I've made. it works pretty well for most things, but honestly if you want that sharp super magnification, you might want to pick up some high quality lenses to slide into this thing. The screen can be kind of tough to get a steady snapshot with, but just being able to see it live in color is worth it. plus it has some other capabilities too, like video, sd storage. Apparently my world is pretty sterile, I have a heck of time finding anything alive, I'm going to have to cultivate some pond scum. The kiddos got to watch some parasitic larvae INSIDE of a caterpillar go to town.

It doesn't work!
Don't buy it! It is blurry and the light beneath is very dim. If I want to look at coins there is no upper light. I am returning it for a refund. I was a vet tech for 30 year so I know how to use a microscope. This one is crap. I only gave it a 1 because Smaxon won't allow a zero star
