The chess set is of highest quality of craftsmanship, the appearance is excellent. The size is made for who appreciate the game (15inch) and good enough for tournament entry size. The pieces are made with attention to detail, balanced weighted for easy play. It is a masterpiece that could be passed on. The chess set comes with a cover which is good enough to protect the set.

Good quality Recommend

I wanted a decent sized chess set, mainly for practising whilst watching YouTube lessons as I couldn't use my phone to watch and practise using chess.com app at the same time, but also wanted to play family and friends. The quality is very good. The pieces are nice. I prefer the black pieces than the cheaper wood coloured versions of this. A&A also have very nicely designed pieces and the knights especially are classy here, as opposed to other makes that use the beady eyed knights. I actually wanted a more expensive 16" one from another company, but luckily they sold out so I opted for this one, saving 17 quid. The packaging is gorgeous, and board is beautifully crafted. The cheaper version has lighter weight pieces and brown wooden coloured dark pieces but I liked this one better. My ONLY gripe is that some mahogany squares are slightly scuffed and are not consistent in colour. I've tried almond oil (I work on guitars and it's great for darkening dried out rosewood fingerboards) but hasn't really worked. Maybe there's something better I dunno. Its still a lovely board and I’m delighted with it. The slightly more expensive walnut one also looks beautiful and I’d recommend that for only around £7 more.

This chess set is genuinely beautiful. He build quality seems excellent, especially at this price point. The pieces are a little light for my taste but they form a nice light set with the board for travel etc. I was a little nervous from a few other reviews but the set I received was almost exactly as shown in the pictures and a really nice set to use regularly. Made bye timeless thougths

I was looking for a well-made chess set with durability, portability and style that won’t break the bank. This A&A mahogany wood chess set checks all the boxes with flying colours. There are several elements that make this set stands out: 1) The mini brackets at the edge of the board is such a smart design, it removes the annoying gap that “clam shell” style chess sets usually have. It is an inconspicuous mechanism that makes the two board pieces flushed fully when laying on a flat surface. I personally like to slide pieces across the board when I play, and this set will not “catch” in the middle when doing so. 2) The inclusion of an extra queen piece is greatly appreciated. For games where a pawn promotion occurs while the queen is still around, it adds both tangible and intangible value to the gaming experience. No need to use a random token which breaks the immersion! 3) The included cloth bag is the perfect companion to the chess set, it protects the board against scratches. This normally costs extra efforts/money if you want a bag that fits perfectly, this saves that hassle, well played. 4) The size of this set is ideal as it allows for portability while still giving it a sense of presence and space to the game. 5) The chess pieces are all well made and weighted nicely. This is quite noticeable especially if compared to another generic chess set. Others tend to feel flimsy with no heft, but not this one. 6) I also want to commend the staff who assisted me on a product matter, their response is swift and effective. It shows they care about their customers. In conclusion, this product is very much worth every penny spent, highly recommend!

Product that is advertised as premium, but quality of the board is not even basic. Attaching photos where you can see that lines of black and white fields are not matching, and this is something I would expect even from the cheapest chess board.
