I already have a similar one in my water pump, but this one,in the description says it doesn't support it, why?** A: You have to start the motor at 100% and then back it down to the desired RPM. I am running a one horsepower buffer on mine and you can definitely tell when you put too much pressure on it that the motor wants to stall. I would think a water pump would take a lot of amps and not like being slowed down. **Q: does this lower the torque output of the motor?** A: Yes **Q: so i could use this to control the speed on a bench sander / grinder or a bandsaw?** A: I don't think so...I will control things like a shop vac or router...something this is a DC motor that is supplied with AC... **Q: I have an angle grinder, will this work with it?
