The knife is better than I had imagined it would be for such a low price. Fits my hand nicely. The supplied sheath fits tightly too. Interesting design. EDC

I have not owned or handled the authentic Benchmade SOCP dagger so I don’t have a complete reference comparison to make. However, the quality of this clone is exceptionally good especially considering the $20 price tag I paid for it from Amazon prime with free shipping. Is the Benchmade SOCP worth an additional $100? If I could afford it, the extra hundred dollars would have been worth it to support an American made product and an American design that is being knocked off unfortunately and I’m guilty of supporting that. But I am not a special forces operator or LEO, just a middle-age guy with a dad bod who wants one extra layer of self defense protection in addition to my EDC pistol. I’ve seen a few complaints of retention in the sheath, mine has no problem at all. The retention is tight and gives a positive click and felt resistance when the blade is inserted or withdrawn from the sheath. Perhaps there are some quality control variations and if you receive one with poor retention, I think you can fix it by putting a heat gun or hair blower at the middle point of the sheath and pressing in so that it tightens against the blade. See my video on that. Overall, it is an incredibly well thought out design and this clone seems to match the quality of the original other than a different finish. When clipped inside the waistband in an angle, it is fairly comfortable to sit with it in place. However, the loop Tang of the knife does cut into my gut a little because I have a little extra around the waist. Bench made makes a square leather pad that should fit and cost $10 on their website which I will probably get. For the price you can’t go wrong..

At first I wasn't sure because the sheath seemed like it was cheap but at second investigation it seems to be nice hard Kydex. The knife is generally very good. My only complaint is with the sheath retention. You can turn the knife upside down in the sheath and it will hold you can give it a slight little jiggle and it will hold but if you do a medium thrust the knife may come out. If you're wondering how secure it is in the sheath. I think for an everyday carry it would be perfect. Also the sheath sits comfortably in your front pockets if you're the type of person that wears them in the front whenever you sit down you don't really notice the sheath is there. Which I like

I really would give this a 4.5 but it only allows four or five. The sheath fits perfect and you feel the retention and the click. Still easy to get out but don't have to worry about it falling out. Fits very good in the hand. Ergonomics are good especially with the finger in the hole. The only thing I wish is the blade was a little longer. Other than that this thing is really cool and especially great for the money

Amazing knife. the clip works but it doesn’t keep a good hold on my pants, the feel is amazing and it’s very easy to “deploy” the design is good, i would like it without the serrated part just off of preference but that’s me, and i would rather have the sheath be on the blade and not the entire knife.

Working in law-enforcement, I need to be able to rely on my equipment. This is not one of those items. I picked this up on a whim on Black Friday because I didn’t want to spend the money on the name brand version we all know and love. I mean, how bad could it be? Initial reviews had me concerned about the clip retention on the sheath, but I was not prepared for the actual blade retention,.. which is nonexistent. Seriously, I would lose this blade running down the street. The blade literally bounces out of the sheath. I get that it’s a knock off product, and ‘you get what you pay for’, but this isn’t worth my life, much less dollar store prices No question, this is going back.

obviously a chinese clone without the best steel but the retention is phenomenal on the kydex, despite reviews I can violently shake upside down with no issues and as others have said can use the hair dryer to fix if that's your issue. Cuts well no complaints fun cheap alternative to a standard socp. Only issue was clip can bend easy but the screws are super easy to remove and put back and any clip adjustments can easily be made with pliers, plus while I still have the oem clip on it it's the same size as several ulti-clips.

Bought for work, hasn’t been “used” aside from utility tasks (cutting straps, airbags, etc) I can’t justify spending $180 on a benchmade SOCP. this is made from the same steel as th SOCP, and holds an edge just fine. As far as I can tell, it’s an exact clone, however if I break it, I’m not going ti cry about it and will simply order another one.
