A Great Guitar At A Good Price
I purchased this guitar for my boyfriend as a Christmas present. He'd told me that he tried to learn the guitar once many years ago, but had given up because he couldn't work the strings very well (he has wide fingers). He told me that he'd rather have played a Spanish Guitar because of the nylon strings, but that he'd never really had the motivation to try again, so I bought him this guitar to try and reignite his interest. He was thrilled with this guitar. It looks and feels good. The sound is also very good and just as you'd expect from a guitar. He's really looking forwards to learning to play it properly. I would definately recommend this guitar. The only downside I can see so far is that it doesn't come with extra strings, which would have been useful, but I can't really complain considering the quality of the guitar for the price I have paid. I don't really know the first thing about what makes a good guitar, but based on what my boyfriend has said, I think this deserves five stars. As I said, spare strings would have been nice, but I don't think that's a big enough deal to take off one star. :)

Quite good (rich sound, fine finish & and solid tuners)
(was thinking 5 stars, but, some finish-related stuff and high weight make me give it 4 stars) Facts : - Length = 84cm, body-length = 40cm, body-width = 30cm (widest place), bodydepth = 8cm. - Colours/Wood: Front = orange/lightbrown, sides/back = red/flare/brown. - colours frets = "gold". - Piano Glossy/Shiny surface. - Strings: 3x metal (bass), 3x nylon (treble) Subjective / Impression : - nice glossy finish. - long-lasting tone (not very dampered inside the-body, but quite loud and nice). - Is quite heavy - seems like it is because of solid & heavy wood of the fretboard. - I am quite pleased with it - and the weight-issue (which is too much for a child 6-9 y.o., and even for me as a grown up) will be taken care of, with a proper guitar-strap (like many other guitar's out there, it doesn't come with a strap or strap-button, so this has to be ordered seperate). - The strings, being new, has to be adjusted, which my Snark-SN4 tuner helps a lot with. Size-Wise : - Size-wise it feels just perfect (to a 7-9 y.o.), and I was a bit worried and confused, as to if I should go for a 1/4 or 1/2 size, with a "higher than normal" 6 y.o. boy - as 1/2 size was only 15-17cm smaller in total length than my grown up, which is stil big and very unhandy for him. - The thing is, that the body is quite smaller than my "grown-up 101cm model" - and the fretboard is somewhat the same in length as my grown-up model. - I have included my measured sizes, to assist future buyers - as size differs, and it all can be very confusing, to buy online, from a not very detailed pic (and no pic showing the sides and back and tuners -by the way the tuners are "old-fashioned" Rococco-style, but does the job (stays in tune / doesn't move autonomously, have enough resistance/friction to stay put). Conclusion: This is a good quitar, especially for a starter. And, I see it fitting 7-9 y.o. kids (the 9 y.o. can maybe choose the 3/4 size, depending on child-size). The thing about size is also, that it seems that people (including me, here) seem to think "big" and "bigger" instead of "mastering and overviewing" and "being able to reach quickly and easy" - so one buys a bit bigger, and the kid struggles and also wants to be bigger and "more grown up" ... (I have experience with this, with a bicycle, when I was a kid - going on a small bicycle and mastering it (before Mountain-Bikes came around, and all bikes had relatively big wheels end size) - and I could go & manouvre where the larger bike-kids couldn't - I could "master my instrument/tool" ... this also applies to string-instruments: we want bigger and "future-proof" and maybe smaller will be the best. My boy now masters ukuleles (sopran to tenor), and he seems to handle the concert-size the best - so, here I am buying a "big baritone" for him ... I hope to get back with this, to convey what happens in the next months-years, regarding him and his twin-sister playing the string-instrumetns and this guitar - how he feels with it (I actually also has bought it to inspire him, thinking that he will begin using it in 1-2 years from now, and just will try it out now-and-then, in the mean-time).

Size matters.........
A very nice guitar from Normans who posted the guitar well packed and very quickly in time for Christmas. Initial thoughts were that it wouldn't hold it's tuning, however after an hour of stretching and tightening the strings, problem solved and the tone from such a small and brand new guitar is very nice and suprisingly mellow, straight out of the box. I purchased the guitar for my 5 year old son deciding after reading various reviews of other small guitars that a half size would be too small for him. Having seen how the 3/4 looks like a double bass on his knee i maybe should have gone with the 1/2 size, but it will be around for a while, and i'm assuming he's not ging to get any smaller, so it's there for fun now, and more serious playing in a year or two, which was really always the intention anyway. All in all a very nice guitar and well worth the money, however if you're buying a guitar for a 4-6 year old child learning reasonably seriously i'd consider a half size first.

I would like to offer some comments and advice to anyone considering ...
I've played guitar for 33 years and bought this model as I was (am) looking for a cheap / affordable classical guitar to start classical guitar lessons with a view to upgrading it in the forseeable future when it becomes necessary. Based on my experience, I would like to offer some comments and advice to anyone considering this guitar whilst adding a sidenote that I wasn't expecting a top class instrument for £60. The instrument came packaged / placed in a box and there was no additional packaging or polystyrene etc. to hold the instrument in place or offer protection during transit. This was just an observation and doesn't indicate definitively that it did or didn't contribute to any further issues. The guitar is a rebranded Stagg (RocketMusic). Whether or not this indicates differing quality control procedures, I don't know. The paint finish on the body and neck is far from perfect. The paint work around parts of the neck binding is actually very shabby. Some of the finishing on a few of the fret ends is also pretty poor. The neck itself has noticably bowed, presumably since manufacture, to the point of you not requiring any measuring device to see it. The action goes from around normal height at the first fret to around 1cm at the 19th fret. I'm not sure to what extent this could be adjusted as there was no info with the guitar and I haven't looked to see what sort of truss road, if any, the neck has.The fretboard also has a noticable downwards kink in it over the last few frets just before the soundhole and I doubt that this could easily be resolved, even by an experienced tech, without full fretboard removal and a guitar at this price doesn't warrant that level of repair and perhaps, more to the point, wouldn't withstand it. There appears to be 2 small cracks on the bottom part of the body front which you can identify as ridges in the lacquer. Whether or not this happened during storage or in transit, I don't know. This is in addition to a variety of small dings and imperfections over various parts of the guitar. The guitar itself anyway feels very light and would not withstand much in the way of knocks or scrapes. The tuning pegs are pretty much horrendous. Tuning stability would be a massive issue for me with this "defect" alone but adding the intonation issues due to the neck / fretboard problems and the overly loose string tension which I guess is partly related to it, I find the instrument to be just about unplayable for anyone who is serious about playing. The whole instrument has a feel similar to that of a toy yet is marketed as a student's / beginner's guitar. Perhaps the most concerning issue is that a beginner or somebody who has little to no experience with guitars may not necessarily pick up on how bad this instrument actually is I don't know if I was just very unlucky or if this model is generally poor or even if environmental factors need to be more of a priority for delicate instruments than Amazon are able to provide but I would seriously advise that an alternative guitar is considered. I will be returning the guitar over the next few days and I would also like to add that I haven't spoken to Amazon regarding this purchase or any of the aforementioned issues but I have never had anything go awry with a purchase that they didn't immediately resolve. I will put it down to experience and pay a little more for an alternative guitar and in all likelihood, buy from someone specialising in musical instruments.

Stag guitar
This is a classic guitar which is about the same size as small acoustic. The small strings are nylon which gives a different sound- a kind of hollow and short lived sound in my opinion. The top of the neck is wider than a normal acoustic which would be comfortable for someone with larger hands. The guitar I received had the strings on the wrong places, which as a complete beginner took me a while to realise. Amazon however refunded me without any hassle - apart from having to repack the guitar for postage. I've since bought a different guitar from a music shop.

Fantastic Starter Guitar
So, i was skeptical about purchasing this Guitar to teach myself how to play due to the price, I had many questions going round in my head, "will it be any good" "will it sound normal" etc etc. but being a student and not wanting to spend too much on a hobby I might not even enjoy, but i am so happy with this guitar considering the price! you get the Guitar, a set of replacement strings, a clip-on tuner and a carry bag, brilliant value for money! where the strings are nylon (because its a classical guitar as opposed to an acoustic) they dont punish the fingers too much either, Fantastic starter instrument, definitely recommend!

Great guitar and amazing value!
I have been playing music for 20 years and I must say I am very impressed with this guitar. It has a beautiful tone, super (and I mean SUPER) glossy finish and the action is spot on to boot!! I just assumed that since the guitar is so inexpensive that it would come with a few drawbacks, but I am happy to admit that I was wrong. The only issue I have with this guitar is that it arrived with a 1 inch chip near the base. I want to exchange it, but the return shipping is only reimbursed up to £3 odd and it'll cost 5 times that to ship it so I will just cut my losses. It's a real shame because I'd rather give it 5 stars but can't due to the chip and return policy. All in all it's an amazing value and I'm still very happy with it.
