Longevity Not Its Forte
Works great but its longevity is subpar. The average life of a bulb would be a month. The microscope (an Olympus BX41) is not left on for long periods of time so it's puzzling that the bulb burns out sooner than the others that we have used in the past.

burnt out after just 3 hours of use - buyer beware!
I bought this product to replace a bulb in an optical microscope in my lab. I purchased it in August 2016, and over the last 4 months, the bulb has maybe been used at a maximum of 3 hours burn time, yet it just burnt out yesterday (January 2017). This is a terrible lifetime given that my previous bulb lasted for 4 years at the same usage rate. I will no longer be being this generic bulb and recommend you stick to a namebrand if you're in need of one too.

but the images I take are not so good. Service and shipping were great
Not sure if it is the bulbs fault, but my camera software now picks up a very uneven light across the field. Doesn't affect the live view, but the images I take are not so good. Service and shipping were great.
