Yarn weight is No: 3 (Light) / WPI : 14 You can use; - 3.75 - 4.5 mm Needle Size - 4.5 - 5.5 mm Hook Size

Can this material be melted using a lighter?

Yes, you can melt it with a lighter. Also, you can glue the two pieces together by melting them with a lighter or with an iron.

If you create a table mat/table protector with this cord, would it tend to melt if you set a hot dish or pan on it?

I would think how HOT the item you would put on your mat. Since you can splice two ends together with heat, it might melt. I would place a hot pad under the pot to be sure. I made table place mats for eating and Love the way they turned out. Hope this helps

Can this be used outdoors for plant hangers?

I see the strength of the yarn and I really think you can used it for outdoor purposes.

Beautiful color, quality, & affordably priced!

I absolutely love this color and the quality of this polycord. It’s perfect for the colors I wanted for a crochet bag I’m making for myself for once. It’s easy to work with. The material is great quality with no frays or knots. There isn’t that much weight to it given that it is 7oz poly cord. I got this for under $10 and I just may need an extra roll for a bigger sized crochet bag I’m aiming for. This was definitely an affordable and deal steal for this quality poly cord. Love it!
