I wouldn't use it for my ny Hamptons customers
It feels sturdy enough,it works, it's easy to install. It gets the job done for my purposes, which is keep the 79 year old library ladder we use at the shop for our storage shelves from falling and let's us roll the ladder whilst on it. Beyond that, if you want to use this for a medium to high end job.... Please don't. I've made library ladders for multiple jobs as a custom cabinet maker for 16 years. The hardware I get for those is 3 to 4 times the price for baseline stuff but the finish and rigidity and customization is impeccable and allows you to pick where you place the mounts and has rigid joinery. This.... The joint moves as the ladder rolls over it and the seam is unsightly. I understand you get what you pay for but if you make a cheap product and it looks and acts like a cheap product it will get a review like this. That said, if you wanted to buy this knowing youd have to sand, weld, sand again, and paint it to fabricate your own custom parts. It's probably fine. I would recommend this only if it's not for showroom quality projects.
