My pool is an in ground, 25x50'. The cord is long so the cleaner covers all the pool area. I was a little bit skeptical because of the relatively inexpensive price tag compared to others with the same features. In ground robotic pool cleaners can easily exceed $800 - $1000 price tag. The unit started doing a fantastic job but would shut off prematurely. Its designed to run approx. 2 hrs with auto shut off. I then contacted Amazon and they immediately emailed me a return shipping label. The problem was they were sold out and could not replace it. So I decided to call the manufacturer Smart Pool customer support out of NJ. I spoke to JoAnn (mgr /specialist) who was efficient, pleasant and very knowledgeable. After some trouble shooting she decided to replace the unit. I sent her proof of purchase and received a shipping return label. They shipped me a newer model the "Pro-Kleen (PK100) robotic pool cleaner. It has a intelligent navigation system and does a fantastic job cleaning my pool and walls. I love it and highly recommend this product. We really liked it for the first year and handled it ever so carefully each time (based on reviews and instructions). I can't get it repaired without having to pay for it. It is kind of lightweight but it motored around the pool nicely...then it started acting up...troubleshooting suggestions didn't help correct anything. Holes that were at every support where it protrudes into oval pool. Then they admitted that it does climb partially. I didn’t take picture do they would do nothing. I had hoped for a unit that doesn’t climb in exchange. They said they all do it. DO NOT BUY FOR ABOVE GROUND POOLS. My local pool store says you should buy a cleaner that does not climb at all.I have not yet called the company and I'm not sure I will because I cant prove that the robot destroyed my pool liner, but it seems pretty obvious. The 4 year old liner had tears in it in the same place all around the oval above ground pool. The tears were located on each side of where the supports are along the long side of the oval. That's where the robot climbs up the side of the pool. It rubs there because the supports protrude into the pool just enough. The holes were in the same place on the liner at every support column.A pool store told me this weekend that I should not have purchased a robot that climbs the wall for a vinyl above ground pool.I would only use this cleaner on a round pool. I spent $300 for this cleaner, $300 for a liner and another $300 to have it installed. Robot id up for sale if anyone wants it.
