THE BEST, don’t hesitate! Several years now
I’m in TEXAS. Yeah it’s HUMID here. And Ive tried several dehumidifiers sent them all back. I live in 600sq ft. This thing sucks so much water I empty it in august every two to three days. Over 2gal, it amazes me bc when it’s full I feel it, I mean my mood literally is worse, and I realize oh its the dehumidifier I need to empty it, and it always is. One PROBLEM was my fault, I didn’t read and had a knob not turned “off” in back or something. (I hired a person to deal with it) and I had what I thought was leakage. It was bad. But it was me not closing switch in back. I will use the hose eventually but you bet I’ll make sure it’s on well and I’ll comb the reviews bc if there’s a way to work with it I think this machine is very worth it. What I’ve realized is: You need a compressor, you need a pump, you need a beast and yes hot air will come out but once the humidity is lowered and you have AC where you like it you will FEEL BETTER. This has been a summer from hell and also I’m so sick of buying stuff that doesn’t work. This does. I don’t know what the criteria is in those “BEST OF rankings” bc I tried three of them, no, no, no. And now that I see how much water this pulls I know it works. Less potential for mold, I feel better. And the thermostat oddly doesn’t have to be as high (I can’t explain that, bc it does give out hot or warm air) but it’s in another room. I sort wonder why we don’t use ac type ducts for the warm air but it’s fine. Oh, and IVE HAD IT FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW.

As long as it lasts long term i consider it perfect
This thing is a beast! I set it up in my basement which is in the 700sqft range. I had a smaller 35pint GE dehumidifier that couldnt seem to get the job done so I replaced it with the 70 pint Ivation unit. Just to compare, I set up both units, emptied the old one and started them at the same time. 10 hrs later I went down to check on them. The new 70 pint Ivation unit already had a full bucket and had shut off! The old unit (which isnt more than 6 yrs old) was still chugging away and the bucket was only 1/3 full! So now i knew the new unit was going to solve my problem. I emptied the new Ivation unit and kept it running. The bucket fills up 2-3 times a day and this unit REALLY moves the humidity numbers. Im generating so much water that I hooked up the hose to the pump and now it automatically pumps the condensate into a drain so I dont have to keep an eye on it. Initially to get the humidity down the unit does throw a decent amount of heat and will raise the temp in your space, but heat is better than humidity right? But rest assured, once it reaches the set humidity level and is just maintaining, your space will not be much warmer than normal. Based on several weeks with it, I would definitely purchase this unit again. Its simple, effective, yet has thoughtful features and seems substantial in quality. I hope it runs for a number of years.

3.5 stars - works - but doubles as space heater.
It has a pump and includes a long hose to vacate the water..... Having had the ones with just the adapter you try to get into position just so and then have to make up a drain hose, this one works well...... Only problem is that it doubles as a space heater. The one it replaced (70 pint) had to be emptied 2x per day from basement during the summer months and didn't add any heat so it worked extremely well.... This one doesn't need emptied but raises basement temps by 10F. Probably a good thing for this winter, but during the hot humid summer, it may not get used like it should as a result.

Fan failure just after 2 years and only 2 hours of daily use
It’s as if the fan cage itself spun itself apart. I took the unit apart to remove what I thought was something dropped into the top of the unit causing the fan to loudly click against the obstruction. What I found was this plastic part that was once part of the fan cage. I reassembled the unit. However, the same loud clicking occurred again. Obviously, the fan blades themselves, now without the outside support structure, are hitting against each other as they spin causing the noise. This simply should not fail! It’s a poor and weak design. The unit was purchased for use in our master bath. We enjoy hot showers in a large bathroom with a vaulted ceiling. All that moisture collects in a small location at the top of the vault. We only run the unit during showers and baths and for a short time after, accumulating about 2 hours per day. The unit has done a great job, until now, of quickly reducing the humidity and drying the ceiling. The paint is in near perfect condition even after 18 years. This is a simple part that should not fail. This was the 2nd time disassembling the unit. The first was to clean it and make sure the drainage area was free form dirt and mold/mildew. Several other structure pieces have also broken as shown in the 2nd photo. The unit did its job well. But, the plastic structure and case is very cheap and fragile.

Works well
Using this to dehumidify a 2000 sq. Ft. Basement. So far it has worked great. Using the included hose, the unit is able to pump the water to a utility sink for drainage. Our basement has a concrete floor and so it’s easy to notice a small (half-dollar sized) puddle of water under the point where the unit connects to the hose. The puddle forms sporadically so perhaps it has something to do with the pump shutting on and off. It’s not enough water to concern me, but if you had wood or carpet you might want to set the unit on some kind of flat platter for peace of mind. It may be that the hose connection is loose, but given it a specialty piece and I’m uncertain about how to replace should it break, I’m not spending time trying to force the hose to fit tighter. After just 3 days it was able to bring the relative humidity from 80 to 55 with the temperature remaining at 70 degrees and so I am very pleased with its performance. It’s not particularly loud — not at all audible on the main floor (older house with no sound dampening). The unit puts out warm air but that’s the nature of beast. I’ll update this review once we’ve used the unit for a few months. So far — happy with purchase.

Efficient dehumidifier
This unit is heavy, easy to assemble and operate. I have not had it long enough to evaluate its energy consumption. There is a significant, low , but not annoying hum to this unit, it is not silent, but what do you expect from a unit that is cooling, condensing, and expelling moisture from a damp basement? My house is 100 years old, built near or over an area that has, according to old maps, runoff from a hill called Mount Tabor, here in Portland, Oregon. Previously, if you left a cardboard box on the concrete floor, the area under the box would be damp, and eventually the box would be damp also. So the concrete floor is always “exhaling” moisture. The unit is set to 40% humidity and has not shut off since we plugged it in 3 weeks ago. I have it draining directly into a floor drain and have observed a steady trickle every day. The basement feels warmer, not so boggy and clammy. It seems to be a good value for the work it’s doing...I have a ground water issue, not a leaky basement which can be fixed, so the dampness is a constant. I can live with the hum if the basement is more livable.

It is worth the money. I would buy again if needed.
I picked this one because I wanted a dehumidifier that drained itself so I didn't have to keep emptying the dumb bucket every day and this works great! I have mine draining into the basement sink but if we want to move it away from the sink we can have it drain outside. I also want to state how my electric bill was not effected by it running 24/7 in my basement.. I have a moisture issue like most basements and in one day I felt a big difference in the air, it does work very well at keeping the air dry from moisture and we only need the one dehumidifier for the entire basement so it is powerful too. I don't have anything bad to say about this purchase at all, it was prob the best investment into our house I ever made... Maybe the noise a little but its in the basement and it really isn't that loud but if that's something that would bother you I don't know of any dehumidifier that doesn't make a sound.

Does not run continuously and drains automatically.
The original order after setup would not dehumidify. After calling tech assist to ensure I had the unit configured correctly—it was. He helped to provide a replacement. That came in the next day. I took the replacement unit out of the box and set it up. After plumbing it to the floor drain it was working perfectly. The unit keeps the humidity (set at 55%) between 51 and 57 %. The unit shuts down when at the proper level so it does not run continuously. If you want to stop manually drawing the bucket and have a place to drain it to, I would highly recommend this dehumidifier.

Works great but a bit loud.
I've had it for a week and it's working great. I mainly bought it for the pump so if can drain into sink instead of manually draining (which would be twice a day in summer!). Unit was easy to set up. It's pretty loud compared to my neighbour's danby. But they don't have a pump. I have no regrets myself since it's in our basement, but if noise is going to be an issue for you, you may want to consider a quieter one. 6 year update. : the pump, which was the main reason I paid extra for this model stopped working after a little over a year. Sucks because now we have to put this huge unit it on counter so it can continuously drain into sink. But all other aspects are working same as 6 years ago. Still just as loud but still draws lots of humidity. It does use a lot of electricity but that’s because it’s continually running in the summer.

Bon déshumidificateur
Fonctionne très bien dans le vide sanitaire

Do not buy
Bought 4 of these and all 4 did the same. Pump usually stops working completely after 6 months and then problems with humidity detector after 6 months - 1 year. Humidity detector only works after unplugging dehumidifier and reconnecting.
