Extremely Effective Product, Tested in Extreme Conditions
Bottom line up front: BUY THESE PACKETS!!! They are miracles in salt form. I'm baffled as to how this is only at a 4.1 rating. I'm an Airborne Infantryman/Paratrooper in the army. I can personally attest to this saving me. Both of my quads cramped up on a 5km movement; we did an airborne operation from Alaska to Hawaii in November 2023. We went from ~20 degrees F to 95 degrees F in under 24 hours. During the ruck, I felt my quads start to lock up. I couldn't walk anymore. The entire brigade stopped the formation, roughly 950 paratroopers halted because I was weak and didn't prepare properly for the massive change in climate. That was the most embarassing moment of my life so far. But one of the BN CSMs came up to me with a packet of these salts. I dumped it into my nalgene, chugged it, and no joke, LITERALLY in under 20 seconds, I was rucking up the hill and towards the assembly area like my quads had never cramped. Now I'm a PL at basic training in Fort Sill, OK. Summers get above 105 degrees F. These are absolutely essential in my kit as our trainees are just not in the right shape physically to handle physical exertion in this heat. I have had a few times where this came in handy for trainees who were cramping or heat catting. I've attached an image of one such instance. This trainee recycled into our Battery, started heat catting at the end of a 3-mi ruck back to the Battery from the hands grenade range. She was having a breakdown because she was afraid of recycling again since we had to do NIC at Night later in the day and she might be kept on bedrest if she fully heat-catted and miss NIC (graduation requirement). I grabbed one of these packets from my kit and gave it to her. She recovered, completed NIC, and graduated with us 3 weeks later. The taste isn't the greatest but it's not gonna make you puke. If you're in trouble of cramping or passing out, you'll barely notice the taste, I promise. Just dump the packet in a nalgene/water source, chug it, and wait 20 seconds. That's it. You'll be back and active in no time.

works as described, great for a backup
They have a funny taste, but what do you expect when you mix sugar, salt and water? These packets saved my life once on a backcountry trip, I was somewhat dehydrated with a severe headache, and after I reached the destination, mixed one into my camelback, and after short rest, I felt infinitely better. Also easier to carry than Gatorade, and in my opinion, more effective than Gatorade powder. Also good for an emergency kit, easy to store.

Good to have on hand
These seem to work fine and are far preferable to a trip to the Emergency Room. The powder dissolves quickly and the solution tastes OK, only a little brackish. Makes one liter. The formulation is good but could be better--glucose makes the solution hypertonic, which is the wrong thing in dehydration. Still, it's much better than the "sports drinks" which are mostly flavor and sweetening. This powdered product should have a shelf-life like forever, so you could keep some on hand without a lot of trouble. Few or none of the rehydration solutions on the market address the need for traces of zinc and magnesium, which must be controversial. (The WHO is convinced.) Severe dehydration, as from dysentery, would call for several packets of this stuff, just to meet potassium requirements. Some experts have concluded that oral rehydration products like this actually work better than IV rehydration for dysentery. If that is so, we wasted a lot of money helicoptering Hurricane Katrina victims to hospitals for rehydration.

Fantastic item for hot vacations, earthquake supplies.
Fantastic item. I believe it is medically sound. It seems very wise to have a few packs on hand, maybe for someone who is sick, for a trip to Death Valley, etc., and for any survival situation, like natural disasters, times when just obtaining drinking water could be quite difficult. I plan to keep it on hand and keep ordering from Amazon!

!
LOVE these! The taste is a little weird, so it usually helps to dilute them in more water until you're able to handle the recommended amount. All the benefits of Gatorade without the nasty food-coloring, artificial flavoring, and incredible amounts of sugar. It might sound weird but I'd equate drinking this to how amazing you feel after having an IV- beside the whole being poked with a needle and/or general ER experience. Or how you'd feel a couple hours AFTER you've been discharged from said ER? If you didn't know just by reading the name (oral REHYDRATION salts)- these are quite effective at helping cure hangovers, migraines, and other common issues with dehydration. Really, couldn't recommend them more...

They may work great, but they taste horrible
These are god awful. They may work great, but they taste horrible. You will seriously stop drinking water and dehydrate yourself because of the taste alone. I prepped two gallons of water with these because I was in the desert with 117 degree heat and after a whole day I'd only choked down half a gallon. I literally drank from a puddle with my LifeStraw instead of finishing the water I ruined with these salts. Granted, if I had no other alternative, I'd have drank them. But knowing that water was not far away, I dumped it all out and refilled with fresh water the first chance I had.

bought Jianas Brothers Oral Rehydration Salts after a colonoscopy procedure ...
bought Jianas Brothers Oral Rehydration Salts after a colonoscopy procedure to help me rehydrate . The truth of the matter is that the fluids they gave me to drink, that cleaned me out, have left me sick for two weeks, going on three now, so I can not give a helpful review, although I know of a lady that had her colonoscopy at the same time, who remains sick from it too (stomach) and she didn't have the salts to rehydrate with.So can say nothing negative or positive, sorry .Will keep the salts for another time, to test.
