Given that this is a 10A switch and most circuits in the US are 15A or higher, is this safe to use in the US?

It is safe to use for 120V x 10A x 80% = 960W for a continuous load. Don't use it on motors, appliances or other heavy loads where the starting amps may exceed 10A. It is not UL Listed, so an electrical inspector would not approve it during construction. It is more for DIY projects.

I do not have a hub. I use the Sonoff directly connected to my WiFi router. It does need the Sonoff application on my iPhone to get the WiFI password and device name set. It also works with Alexa. After I had the Sonoff connected to the app on my iPhone, I then added it to Alexa.

Is the s-mate and r5 the only way to trigger this device?
