We got this as a Christmas gift for my 3 and 1 year olds. Here’s everything I love about these: -both of them can play with them for a LONG time. It keeps them so entertained and they love it! -these have the rivets to help keep the magnets in place. I was worried about other brands that only use glue. These rivets feel very sturdy and I don’t worry about magnets popping out. Very safe. -cost: these are half the price of other brands that give you smaller sets. Love that this comes with 150 poeces so my kids and build more things.

I absolutely love the new Playmags! We got the 150 piece set last year (2015) for Christmas and the kids loved them. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the magnets just weren't as strong as I thought they would be. We could build decent structures but everything seemed to fall apart after it would get so big. According to my kids, the babysitter's magformers were much stronger and stayed together better. I tossed the idea around of getting a different brand, but price wise I just didn't want to spend the extra money on a better magnet with way less pieces. Like I said, my kids (ages 8, 6, 4, and 2) still played with them all the time and didn't seem to mind. Luckily, I procrastinated on getting another set of playmags and they came out with the new stronger magnets with the clickins. We got the updated 150 piece set, the alphabet click in set, and the building plate. We are completely in love. The new magnets are so much stronger! Even using them with our older blocks makes the older ones more sturdy. The click ins with alphabet and windows add so much more fun to our buildings and the kids like trying to put their names on the sides of the buildings. I can not say enough about the new set. Still not sure how they compare to other brands, but we love what we have. They are the first toy I grab when we have moms group as they are always a hit with all age children. I would love to see some new sets with more shapes or building ideas in the future! Attached photos: the tower my 4 year old built and up close picture of the magnet. Magnatiles are THE name brand. You can count on them being the safest in terms of chemical make up (BPA free, lead free, etc...). They have rivets and not just glue to keep the magnets in. They have a wide assortment of colors, especially with various sets. They have fun pieces like doors and stairs. Their isosceles triangles actually make perfect circles, unlike many other brands. However, they are expensive. Their magnets are also smaller than some newer brands have released, including Playmags. Playmags has larger/stronger magnets, and they’re cheaper. I’m adding pics comparing the two. Playmags isosceles triangles can’t form circles, thus no pretend pizzas, cakes, pies, etc. Playmags doesn’t seem as forthright on chemical makeup. Magnatiles and Playmags are both stronger than Picasso, and have the rivets in the corner for extra durability unlike Picasso. I hear the strength of Playmags magnets is on par with Connetix. Connetix may be slightly stronger. However, Connetix isn’t flat, which makes it less ideal for play with cars/animals etc on top. Don’t go for obscure off brands when it comes to magnets for toys, as they can pose a safety hazard. Magnetic Tiles are super fun for kids. It’s the first toy that really brought out independent play at our house, and they’re so open ended. I’d suggest a minimum of 100 pieces per child. This is a cool set. Nice that it comes with an idea book. There’s also a Magnetic Tiles Ideas group on FB to get and share building ideas.

Awesome little magnet toys! These are perfect for kids and grown ups and and can be used so many different ways. One of the things I looked for when I was buying these is that they have the rivets that keep the two sides together - that was important to me so the magnets were less likely to come out. It's not really a complaint, more an observation, but these aren't 100% compatible with MagnaTiles. They're just ever so slightly smaller so when you're building an epic design, the tiny mismatches begin to show. If you're just building small houses and such, it's no big deal, but the major castles and towers do take a hit for not being exactly the same.

This is our fourth set of magnetic tiles. The first two we purchased were MagnaTiles brand (a used forty-something piece set without rivets and a new thirty-something piece set with rivets). Once I found out that there were other brands, we bought the 100 piece Picasso Tiles set (no rivets). Finally, because our four year old son literally plays with these off and on all day every day from the time he wakes up to the time he goes to bed (for about a year and a half now), we bought yet another set - this time Playmags brand (has rivets [including this info because I know some people are concerned about their kids swallowing magnets]). All I can say is that someone really dropped the ball when it comes to this toy's patent, because they are all the same - same size, same weight, same magnet-strength and quality (I had read a few reviews about the magnets repelling each other - we do not have that problem at all). The Picasso Tiles and the Plagmags are slightly more translucent. The Playmags' rivets are slightly larger than the MagnaTiles. They all work together seamlessly. I recommend this Playmags set over the other sized sets and brands because number one - your child will want as many of these as possible in order to make all the cool things they dream up. Number two - this set comes with two cars, which even if you get the 48 piece MagnaTile set with the car, it's only one car; Playmags is the only other brand that I know of that has cars (my son loves them - they even connect, train-like). Number three - the variety of shapes is unbeatable. Number four - they're less expensive while offering the largest size set I've seen. Playmags are worthy of five stars. If we ever purchase more magnetic tiles (although, hopefully this will hold him for a while), this will definitely be the brand we choose. Not to sound too cliche, but they really are fun for the whole family.

Great grandson loved them his kindergarten class had some so we bought him some of his own he plays with them and just keeps him busy building things

These are amazing I plan on buying three more for Christmas they are really worth the money you get so much more than you would with the name brand kind

Tutto bene con l'ordine e la spedizione. Prodotto fatto molto bene e di qualità. Mia figlia di 3 anni ha apprezzato tantissimo. Con 150 pezzi ci sono tantissime possibilità di costruire cose diverse. Consigliato.

Editado: 1 año después sigue siendo el juguete estrella. Ideal para hacer construcciones y combinar con muñecos y coches. Hemos hecho de todo: garajes, pistas, casas, castillos, torres, parques, toboganes... Prácticamente jugamos todos los días. Original: Todo son buenas palabras para este juego. Mi hija lleva jugando con él todos los días desde el 25 de diciembre. Pensamos que con los regalos de los Reyes Magos por fin abandonaría este juguete temporalmente, pero no, lo combinó con los nuevos :) Todos los días la palabra 'imanes' es de las primeras que menciona al levantarse. Hemos construido decenas de cosas y no nos cansamos de crear. La calidad de las piezas es buenísima, a pesar de múltiples caídas desde la parte alta de las construcciones no se ha roto ninguna. Los imanes tienen muchísima fuerza (cuidado con pillaros los dedos). Un gran juguete que entretiene a nuestra hija todos los días, desarrolla su creatividad, su agilidad con las manos, su capacidad de resolver problemas, su ingenio... Una gozada, estamos encantados en casa. A todas las personas que han visto este juguete les ha encantado. Recomiendo comprar el paquete de 150 piezas, ya que uno más pequeño puede limitar nuestra creatividad. No os arrepentiréis de su compra. Dinero bien invertido.
