The problem is... after first use the, the "X" silver linings came off. I don't know if I was just unlucky and got this particular flawed product. It really appears to be nothing more than a nylon sock with the foot cut off. I've seen more complex compression socks for $12 at the local athletic store. Nevertheless, I wore it with consistency while fighting Achilles tendonitis and it did seem to help.
