Get different screws! - Everything went really well. The quality seems to be really great. The only real issue was the long self tappers: they are stainless steel, which I have found to be too brittle to screw into metal frame members. I just used the basic zinc-plated self tappers from Home Depot. Other than that, I cut 4 in off of the female part of the upright. Since it's aluminum, it's nice that you don't have to worry about cutting the paint off and having it rust. Review: Pretty easy to install - Love this ! I bought for a friend to carry ladders on top of his van.
