Billie Holiday (1915-1959) was an American jazz musician and singer-songwriter. Her unique vocal style had a seminal influence on jazz and pop music, and is easily identifiable even today. Recorded with her own orchestra, Control Booth Volume 1 (1940-1941) has just 10 songs, but 25 performances in total - 15 are alternative takes.
