Not worthy book . Do not buy . It’s not a guide to Italy but personal experiences type of compilation

Really disappointed. Worse lonely planet guide I have seen. Beautiful but practical information is not as good as it should. Some parts have no title so you don't know what are they talking about until you read it. Worse thing which for me is incredible, the region of Valle d'Aosta is simply absent

Wow, Lonely Planet - you were for at least 20 years my GO-TO, number one book guide for travel. Whenever I was planning a trip, you'd be the first travel guide I buy, without a second thought. While planning my first travel post-Covid years, I did the same, even though I already have the Italy edition from 2010. But... whatever happened to the lovely, detailed walking tours? The depositories of restaurants and bars? I get that the format has been re-jiggered for a new generation of travelers and readers, but it doesn't function well for me. I like having the whole she-bang in the book for me to trawl through and pick out what appeals to me. I don't quite like the little listicles sprinkled throughout - bring back the sidebars and boxed stories! Still, credit as always for having a more than sufficient trove of information and being a great voice and authority I still trust.
