Cool dripper. Classic Shape. Well Built. Lightweight.
The V60 from Hario is the definitive coffee dripper at this point. It has become the standard world wide due to it's price point and flavor profile. If you are debating whether to get one at all, as a coffee nerd I say you have to own this dripper. If you are debating what material to get...hopefully this review can help you decide if the metal is right for you. I have owned Ceramic drippers, plastic drippers, glass drippers, and now this metal dripper. I have used the plastic V60, the Hario Switch, and their ceramic version. For all V60 drippers, the end result will be similar enough that I don't think flavor should be a driving decision factor here. This Metal V60 is a really good balance of quality and price for a V60 dripper. I paid around $26, which is over double the price of the plastic version. However, this will last over twice as long. The plastic is lightweight and quick to heat up, making it good for beginners and for travel. This metal one is only slightly heavier, with similar heat retention because it is so thin. However, it is way more durable. The plastic can crack over time just from the heating and cooling as you brew hundreds of times. If wanting to test our the pour over method, I'd consider the plastic, but if you want something to keep long term, go with the Metal if you are between these two. The Ceramic and Glass V60s are similar to each other, both are nice to hold and to look at. They feel more premium than the metal, but they are heavy, and they are breakable, and so you need to be careful. If you slip while washing them, it could be game over. They take longer to heat up, and require more time to pre-heat if you are particular about the starting temp of your brew. I do enjoy using them. They feel like a good match for someone who is careful and methodical. Someone who wants fewer, but nicer items, and wants to intentionally slow down the morning routine. The Ceramic especially is comforting to hold and look at. For the average person, I think the Metal is still the better pick. It has a nice silicone base that sits softly on a cup or carafe. With the heavier ceramic or glass, it can clank down and you have to be careful not to set it down too hard and chip or shatter the vessel below. The lightness of the Metal, and not having to worry about shattering or scratching, makes the metal v60 great for travel and you don't have to baby it in the kitchen. The Hario switch is an interesting alternative for a dripper that you keep at home. The metal can be used inside or outside, and is easy to travel with. BUT for brewing at home, the switch feels very premium, and gives great brewing options. If I could only have one brewer, I would maybe choose the metal, because I can also travel with it. If I had one at home that stays there, I would get the switch because it is easier to learn how to get great coffee, and expands the possibilities of what you can do. I really love it and can see why it is becoming so popular. However, most of the time I want to make a pour over, I just want to brew a standard V60 the classic way. If travel is not a concern, the Hario switch could easily be your only dripper. Overall, The Metal might be my favorite of all the V60s. It is the easiest to clean. I'm not worried about breaking or damaging it. I can take it anywhere. I think it will last a lifetime (assuming the silicone holds up long term). While it might not feel or look as "nice" as some of the glass, ceramic, or switch options, it still feels and looks very premium. Has a slightly campy vibe, so may not be everyone's first choice. For me though, I love the outdoors, and this dripper reminds me of those amazing mornings brewing coffee outside, where it always tastes better.

Durable and easy to clean. One of the best v60's on the market.
The best V60 if you have clumsy housemates or for a commercial setting. I've worked as a barista for 15 years for context. As being metal, damage resistant, easy to clean and very rust resistant. With a durable rubber base that is easily removed for cleaning. This makes for a robust and long lived V60. I do not find that the metal gives a flavor into the finished coffee; I have read that this happens with cheaper metals. If I were to choose between this metal V60 vrs the ceramic it would be a toss up. I would maybe lean towards the ceramic at home as it doesn't bleed heat as much as this one does. But I think that the metal one works about 99% as good as the ceramic one, without the worry of breaking it. It's thin, light, and durable. Great for camping too.

Great
This thing is great, warms up fast, fits in the Hario decanter nicely if you remove the silicone base.

Nice Design!
This is a very good product. Took it on a camping trip and it was easy to use. The swirl design is speedy too in making coffee. I like a well designed product.

My Most Jsed
I had a plastic V60 but decided to pick this one up. I can’t tell a difference between brews to be honest. But this one looks a little nicer and feels a little better. I do like the silicone base as it provides a little grip when I’m using mugs that are almost as wide as the base, seems a little more secure.

Makes a good cup of java
Almost returned this dripper before opening up the box and using, as I misinterpreted its design from the website. I had been seeking a filter-less dripper. Decided to keep it, figuring it was an upgrade from the plastic Melitta cone I had been using. And happy to share that this is a GREAT product. The resulting brew is richer and more flavorful. Taking off one star only for pricing. Would have purchased the resin version but decreasing the use of plasticware in the kitchen where possible.

Great find
Husband is obsessed with grinding his own coffee now. Love that this is stainless steel. Easy to clean and fits over bigger coffee mugs too!

Great coffee dripper!
This is my favorite contraption to brew coffee! I was using a glass pour-over carafe, but they kept getting dropped on the floor or knocked into the sink. (yay cats!) This dripper gives me the taste quality of a pour-over, while being easier to clean and keep safe. It’s the perfect size for one-two cups of coffee, and the rubber support helps it work with almost every size of coffee mug. Be careful, if the support isn’t all the way on the dripper, it can cause some weird leakage. That said, it’s an easily avoidable issue. Overall: I love this product. Totally worth the price point!

I like the dripper
The stainless steel V60 dripper was purchased to replace a turquoise Hario V60 dripper which was a house warming gift. There was nothing wrong with the original dripper but the plastic did taint with coffee over time and is the only turquoise item in the house. This stainless steel V60 dripper is actually a few millimeters smaller than the plastic model but still holds the same size 2 papers. it works perfectly makes good coffee and so far has been very easy to clean. I did look at other stainless steel coffee drippers but the Hario has a soft rubber base which sits atop the coffee cup and this is certainly better than a hard stainless steel part especially if you like a bone china mug
