I really like the development of this shaved ice machine with the two molding containers and charging cord. It does charge fast. It really was fun using it and creating some snow ice with it to make ones like my local coffee shops. BUT the latching mechanism needs some work. After using for the third time, I could not latch it back to shave the ice. The corner wore off (if you can see the plastic wear and tear in the picture) It’s a bummer. I’m returning this. I hope for some modifications in the future. For the price, I need it to work longer than two days.

This ice shaver requires the you to fill multiple cylinder mold shapes with whatever fruit/sugary concoction you want and put into the freezer. These frozen cylinders (you could call then smaller diameter and taller than hockey pucks, but that doesn't flow off the tongue) are fed one at a time into the ice shaver with a plunger mechanism for constant pressure. First. How is the shaved ice? Delicious. Depending on what concoction you chose to freeze. The shaved ice comes out as a frozen inch or so wide tape that is tissue paper thin. This layers on top of itself into the bowl. When eating this, the feeling of the shaved ice melting on my tongue is wonderful. Frozen molds. One frozen cylinder makes 1 to 2 servings. Having a lot of pre-frozen molds is key if for a group. Usage: Figuring out how to detach, load, and reattach the big plastic cylinder can be confusing or challenging at first, but once done a few times, it is pretty simple. Once loaded, there is a power button to turn on the machine (long press) and same button starts and stops the machine. Once running, it will run until you stop it or until about 98% of the ice is shaved and then will automatically stop. While running, the shaved ice coming out will pile up in a shallow bowl provide and while back up to the machine if not paying attention. Cleaning is not so bad as long as you keep your fingers out of the inside of the plastic cylinder. How much do I like this? It is a lot of work for a small amount for shaved ice. And preparation ahead of time is a must. I like playing with mixes of what to freeze but find myself not doing this a lot because I need to think of it a day ahead. Overall... the machine works well. If you really like using this, get more molds.

This makes great shavings! The flakes are thin, light and fluffy. It’s still ice, so not as fluffy as snowflakes, but it’s not snow cone crushed ice either. It’s a little tricky at first to press both buttons at once to start, because there is one on each side, but you get the hang of it pretty quickly. It’s actually a great safety feature. Cleaning is easy, if you use ice, just rinse the blade section and let dry. The unit come with ice molds that you have to use. But that’s not a big deal. Just freeze a bunch and keep them in the freezer for when you need them. The molds make 4 at a time. Two of us split the shavings from one ice mold. This is should be used by adults. Children will have a tough time fitting the blade section on to the unit with ice in it. Teens will be able to manage. It’s not hard, just takes a bit of coordination to hold the sections together and twist in place, as the ice holder is spring loaded. One of the best features is that it is usb rechargeable, so you aren’t tied to an outlet. You can even take it on a picnic and use it if you want! Note: it is not as loud as my video makes it sound. There is noise, yes, you are shaving ice with an appliance, but I had my phone up next to it to get a pic of the wonderful shavings!

I like how thin the ice is and the fact you aren't sort of stuck with it on the counter by an outlet since it's rechargable but having to put the little discs of ice in it constantly gets tedious if several people want snowcones. It's basically a single serving type of machine which for almost 60 dollars for a machine I'd like to be able to get more use out of it. Unless I freeze several pucks of ice in advance and keep them in a bag it just feels like you're waiting forever for enough ice.

Is actually works really good. I was quite surprised because I had one similar when I was a kid and it never worked right at all. This Shaved Ice Machine Electric - Rechargeable Snow Cone Maker, Frozen Dessert Machine comes with two big round cylinder ice cube trays that hold 2 big cubes each. Those big cubes fit inside the machine and that's what shaves down into the cup if you have one there or the tray that they provide. One cube makes a big pile of shaved ice so that would translate to probably a small to medium cup full of shaved ice for each cube. So you'd be able to make four decent sized slushies with the provided ice tray cubes. It also comes with the plug-in to charge it and a brush to clean it out. I love the fact that it is cordless so that you can take it outside and do it out there while the kids are right there waiting with whatever flavor they choose for their slushies. You could even take this to the beach with you as long as you kept your ice cubes cold in a cooler or something. The only thing I would recommend is buying some flavoring that you can put over your shaved ice so that you're able to enjoy a slushie right away. I didn't have any flavoring so I was just stuck with my shaved ice until we bought some flavor. This machine works just as they stated does and it's a handy thing to have in the summer.
