Spam Chopped Pork & Ham (Splitable) 2x200g

I love fried spam, eggs and chips. I noticed the American produced spam is so much porkier tasting, unfortunately I can only find the Denmark produced version of spam. Here's a dim sum type recipe to try. Open 2x200g spam tins, empty in a bowl, add black pepper and 100 grams of finely (per-blanched 1 minute) chopped green leaf cabbage, use a fork or potato crusher and crush the spam and cabbage until it's spreadable, leave to one side get 150 grams of plain flour, 150 grams of tapioca flour, tsp of salt, mix everything together, add small amounts of water until it becomes a ball of dough. Knead for 10 minutes, roll dough out, cut into 2 inch pieces. Roll each 2 inch piece in a circle shape, fill each dough circle with a little of the spam and cabbage spread. Use a fork and seal the edges, steam or pan fry for 10 minutes. Bamboo steamers are ideal.

Easier to open tin is a definite improvement. I have not eaten genuine Spam for many years, having chosen almost identical non-generic products which cost significantly less. Frankly, I couldn't really tell the difference between the "Real Thing" and the cheaper products, and the nutrition information (which isn't really healthy as this a processed product) is very similar. I have given a couple of stars for the new, easy to open, tin!

Good. The only thing my family don't understand is: why it is called a "Spam"?
