Despite being a fan of mob movies, I never managed to catch The Sopranos when it was broadcast on TV (I'm always too busy to properly follow a TV station's schedule). Nonetheless, I heard it was a good show, so I took the plunge and purchased the complete box set. Boy, am I glad I did! The Sopranos is compulsive viewing. I watched all six seasons over the course of one month. Each episode is crammed with interesting characters, cutting dialogue and fantastic acting. And although classified as a TV drama, there is a lot of humour injected into each episode, so its not all downbeat and grim - you'll be laughing during scenes as well! For fans of mob movies, The Sopranos is essential viewing. For casual fans, it still makes a great TV show. I know because my wife could care less for mob movies but even she would sit there watching episodes with me... Because its not just about the Mafia. Its about family and relationships as well. Highly recommended.

This series is truly remarkable. It's basically a family drama disguised as a mob thriller. What I mean is that even if you remove the criminal part, you still would find the story appealing such are the quality of the plot and the cast. The true key for the success of this show resides in the attention given to the details. In this aspect the episodes are more like a film that just a TV's product. Every situation, place and attitude of the characters is meticulously planned and everything matches perfectly. There are also very well selected soundtracks that enriches the story. The level of quality in 'The Sopranos' is so high that even when you think that you have seen everything, a new scene appears that just disconcerts you. Very dramatic situations combined with bursts of comedy are a example of that. It will certainly enjoy seeing this show as I did, and if you have already seen it on TV you should buy it either and watch it continuously and without interruptions or commercials. As doing so, you'll notice, a lot of stuff and connections between the characters and the storyline that you were not aware and your marvel towards the show will only increase. Relating to the product itself... Well it's simply a paper box containing all the respective individual seasons' boxes inside. The price seems to me more than fair, considering all the cost involved in the production of the show and the global quality of the product.

The best of actors that casting has found for a story that relives that part of American past ,it really is the best of the best.

Having been an avid fan of the gangster genre for some years, I came to the party late with The Sopranos, having missed it's debut on terrestrial tv some years back, I opted not to try and follow the tale half way through.Instead, I took the plunge and waited for the release of the entire series and started right at the beginning. I've just spent the last three months being captivated by this show! It takes some time and investment on the viewer to appreciate the drama and performance of the cast involved. This is more than just a conventional gangster drama and you find yourself being drawn into the interplay of Tony and the characters that inhabit his world.Gripping, addictive and intense at times, once this show gets under your skin, you will find yourself forfeiting other shows for this one! As a whole this is a fascinating and compelling drama. If looked at season by season, I thought the middle instalments of series 2 and 3 to be the highlight of the entire run. This could've run and run for many years but goes out on a high, although much discussion has arose from the ambiguous conclusion. Great cast, terrific writing, sharp dialogue. This collection comes in a nice shoe box and works out cheaper than collecting the individual box sets.If you have yet to see this show and feel a little intrigued, go buy this, you won't be disappointed. I was sorry to reach the end, it became such essential viewing. I'm now working my way through The Shield and am finding that to be as equally compulsive, but hey, that's another review!

I've always been a huge fan of this show. I watched every episode when it first aired,except for the final part of Season 6, as I knew for sure that I were going to purchase this box set when it was released. I've just watched every episode again in a marathon run. Absolutely essential viewing. With a finale to die for! Ambiguous perhaps and not the happy ending I was after but gripping as hell right up until the last scene. My only disappointment,would be the almost total lack of extras. Ok there's some episodes that you can add commentary on,though I've never been a fan of such things. Most noteworthy,there are no deleted scenes whatsoever! I think this is an absolute travesty. The only extra of note is a short spoof behind the scenes of 'Cleaver' very funny,but that's it. However if these things bother you not,or if you've never watched this show then buy this box today! All seven volumes are contained,individually boxed within the larger shoe box style collectors edition box, which incidentally is very sturdy & a decent size for storage on your bookshelf. e molto bene!

The series itself is great. Although to open the box you have to remove a sticker which instantly damages it which isn’t great at all.

Wanted to grab the Dvd set as its nice to still have physical copies of things. Plus gets to add i to our collection. Came pretty quickly. All seasons inside. 1 or 2 of the plastic disk holders were broken, but the disks are fine. Happy to have the full set.

Bellissima serie

Die Serie ist zwar schon etwas älter, aber sie gehört immer noch zu einer der besten TV-Shows aus dem Hause HBO. Vor ca. 10 Jahren habe ich sie das erste mal gesehen und nun habe ich mir diese BluRay Box gekauft. Gute Aufmachung, jede Staffel in einer separaten Hülle mit je 4 Scheiben. Zur Serie muss man nicht viel schreiben: Klasse Handlung, wird nie langweilig, brutal, witzig, dramatisch und manchmal auch traurig und vor allem: ERSTKLASSIGE Darsteller! Wer sie nicht kennt, hat was verpasst! PS: Für mich die lustigste Folge "Verschollen im Schnee" - was habe ich gelacht.
