This was the perfect size. I also wanted to have one that opened easily and cleanly. I fell out of favour with foot opening bins years ago because the mechanism always seemed to be a potential dirt and grime trap. I looked and tried out some of the electronic-eye type bins that open as you wave your hand over them but, they seemed over fussy and I had to spend more time than I wanted moving my hand over them. I have no experience, but I also wondered about long term reliability. That brought me to this product. It is neat and tidy, the lid opens cleanly with a simple press on the top and has a nice smooth opening action. There is a neat lip that sits over the bag, trapping it firmly in place. Being tall but narrow, it needs a bespoke bag size, which of course means a higher running cost than if you were able to buy generic bags. I was happy to go with that because t meets my needs in every other way. Recommended ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A High Quality Bin *by R***J on 29 September 2016* So far as it is possible to describe a waste bin as elegant, this certainly is. The fingerprint-proof surface works well, the bin's small footprint and its slim profile allow it almost to disappear into the kitchen background. I have one - very minor - gripe, which is that the vertical surfaces are slightly curved, so that it doesn't fit perfectly against a wall.In use, it's very practical. The touch-activated lid is positive but responsive and its movement is slightly damped, so that it doesn't open too suddenly. It's easy to load with a liner in such a way that the plastic isn't visible once the top section is replaced.All-in-all, I'm very pleased with it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lovely designed Bin *by T***G on 21 July 2015* Had to order a new bin as purchased a new dishwasher and as it is now full size one our old bin would not fit back in the space we had left for it. Our old bin was the large round one by brabantia and we have always been very happy with it . This new bin looks lovely and of good quality. Lovely smooth opening and closing, the removable bin inside makes it very easy to keep clean. I would recommend this bin, but expensive, but worth the extra I think.
