Works great

Brought my guitar back to life after it dried out. The Humidipak system is set-and-forget easy, and my guitar sounds and plays so much better now.

The review title is the main point and covers the important stuff. I had a number of wood acoustic instruments in Houston Tx in a house that between Summer AC and Winter Heat averaged 40-60% humidity (i.e. in the recommended "range") with occasional extremes down to 38% which I felt my guitars and ukes etc. could handle. After 10+ yrs I noticed some low humidity issues so I got got a few of these and starting with 3 acoustic guitars I started the process of re-humidifying cases and guitars. I bought 5 relatively cheap hygrometers to put in with the instruments. After 3 weeks all were showing ~60% in their cases. I had to add some standard water based Oasis humidifiers due to the packs in this product starting to dry out before the 3 weeks was up. This worked and kept them at the 59% humidity. Hence 2 stars for longevity. When I got everything where I wanted them I added water based to the sound holes as they hang on the walls with the hygrometers. I am a little disappointed in the varied instruments them selves but it's really about Houston. Our house literally runs 38% up to low 60% and the acoustics cannot keep up. Unfortunately, with them in their cases, I do not just pick them up and play as much.

The best solution I have found for protecting my acoustic guitar. No filling up a reservoir, and even in the AZ desert it did its job. You can tell when you need a replacement - the bag gets stiff. Easy to use.

I left my Taylor acoustic on it's stand in my living room for an extended period of time this last winter (I know, BIG mistake in New England) and noticed one day that the fret ends were cutting into my hand. After talking with an employee at a guitar shop, he recommended this system. They had the "maintain" packets, which didn't quite hack it (guitar too dry). I found the "restore" packets and tried them out. After a few weeks of the guitar case staying shut and using in conjunction with an Oasis humidifier (which I used with the other packets too) it worked! Like it never happened! I'm sure I need to make a truss rod adjustment, but the instrument is hydrated again. I put the restore packets back in it's ziplock packaging and put the maintain packets back in. I'm keeping my guitar in it's case when not in use from now on!

Living in a dry climate like Colorado, I was really hoping this humidifier kit would help protect my guitar. While the system itself is very easy to set up, I was quite surprised to find that the packets became completely hard after just about a week. Because they dried out so quickly, it’s honestly a bit hard to tell if there was enough time for my guitar to actually absorb the moisture or if there's been any noticeable improvement in the wood. It seems like a decent product overall, and I imagine it lasts much longer in areas with moderate humidity. However, if you live somewhere exceptionally dry, just keep in mind that you might go through the refills very fast.

I live in a very dry climate. Even humidifiers in the house and office rarely get the environment the proper humidity for guitars. I placed the maintenance packets in the case with my electric and then one restore pouch. The case now maintains a 50% humidity level, and the guitar neck is now stable. I can tell a difference in the guitar.

Having moved from a more moist sounther California to the dry Arizona desert, this product is a must to keep humidity levels around 50% to keep all wood from drying out and shrinking. This is especially important if you have wood instruments that are either expensive or ar important to you.

My acoustic guitar was so dry, the front of it was concaving inwards, the fret board was shrinking, the whole nine yards... A couple months in a sealed bag with these and it's completely revived and back to perfect shape (and beautiful tone) once again
