Specification Connection Review: Slightly adjustable and perfect for a diesel heater. - Bought this for a diesel heater that can take up to 15a at 12v on start up and it has no problem , the resistor can adjust it no problem and I set it up to 12.8v using volt meter as the heater will cut out if it drops below 12 on start up and now at 12.8 it fires up no problem. I've had it a month now and with daily use as its getting cold here yea this thing is running the heater be it on low power after start its not failed yet , I've had other psu's from the same maker in 5v 20a versions that power my led strings and there's still going after 2 years , good product and seem to be great quality. The 20 amp relates to the Output . V x A = W : ( 12 x 20 = 240 Watt Maximum ) : On the upstream side of the Transformer and input voltage of 230/240 the amperage will equal 1 amp . As you will note as the voltage is reduced the amperage increases and therefore need to take care when sizing the cable on the output side of the transformer . I.e if you elected to have just 1 circuit at full 20 amp load **Q: is this 12v total (4v per channel) or 12v per channel?** A: Its 12v per channel and 12v total voltage so you can run 10/12 cctv cameras if that helps **Q: Can I use this power adapter with a dimmer switch & dimmable led strips?** A: I don't see why not as the dimmer only controls the lamps, the supply shouldn't matter. **Q: Silly question but though i know i need a plug, i assume i does come with the cord already fitted.** A: No it doesn't come with a cord.
