Love Poison grip but want more roll?... Say hello to Poison Savant! What could possibly make Atom's Poison, one of the top performing wheels in the industry, any better?... Our exciting NEW SAVANT core of course! First, we start with Savant, featuring an oversized core with a molded lip. The oversized core not only reduces weight but increases the overall roll (speed). With the increased speed the molded lip plays a big role in ensuring the grip characteristics remain. Then we wrapped that puppy in our famous Poison urethane. Poison provides awesome grip without that 'sluggish marshmallow' feeling which allows for more roll. Poison Savant is perfect for outdoor tracks, slick sport courts, bank tracks and dirty wood floors. Review: Great customer service - Great customer service, first set came with a slight defect and they took care of fixing the matter quickly, these wheels are awesome on my derby skates. I'd say they're more outdoor than in, but I love the grip either way. Review: Just right! - After more than twelve years playing roller derby I've learned a few things about wheels. I like a firm wheel with mid range grip. Without a specific durometer on these I wasn't sure what to expect. I'd ordered eight purple wheels with bearings and eight in blue without. My daughter wanted to mix them up so I've got them alternating on my skates. I like that these have very little mushiness to them, like outdoor wheels. They're used in a polished concrete that is currently pretty slick. My 97a wheels had no grip at all, while the outdoor 84a wheels gripped okay but felt like I was skating in peanut butter. They feel like an 88a-91a to me, but they felt different on a wood floor that isn't as slick as the concrete. In a good way, it's like they adapt a little bit. I doubt I'll use them on an outdoor hockey rink that's nearby, and definitely not on asphalt. The wheel itself is thin and I think those surfaces would eat through them easily. These are also lightweight. They're the lightest wheels I think I've ever used. But the best part is that they still have the firm feel of my aluminum hubs, and it doesn't feel like the spokes are wimpy. I like the bearings that came with the purple wheels enough to be looking for another set. They sealed out the dust and heavy pollen that coats everything at the moment much better than my other bearings. I didn't notice any excess grease either. For reference I'm not inclined to do much jumping, I generally block, and weigh 140-150. I do a lot of plows and loved that these were easy to control with small changes in pressure. They didn't catch the floor unexpectedly but also gripped with ease. Still need some more time in them to not have to think about them but I don't see these earning less stars.

GUMMY, INDOOR WHEELS ...not outdoor wheels.
These corner like you're on RAILS. These are NOT outdoor wheels. These will NOT slide for dance skating, where you want that slide effect. These are SUPER GUMMY, derby-type indoor wheels.

Outdoor--with exceptions. Indoors was great
Update- finally skated with these indoors and i barely had to use effort to skate! I was gliding along. Definitely enjoyed these indoors. So I bought these with hopes of being able to do indoor and outdoor skating seamlessly, but that was not the case! Partially my fault-- the description says what the wheels are used best for. These wheels AREN'T best for asphalt or pavement, no matter how smooth. Easily catches cracks in the ground and still a very bump ride. I was geting pretty frustrated but I wounded up going to an outdoor derby rink that's free in my area and wow, what a difference! In short, not good for pavement or bumps, great for smooth outdoors rinks or sport court. Kind of loud/ sticky sound but don't notice with headphones in. Have not tried these indoors yet :)
