Are you required to get a subscription with the new Petcube Cam or will it work without one? I understand it won't record without one.

No...you don't need a paid subscription to use the new Petcube cam. What is recorded, however, will only be saved for about four hours and then deleted. If you want your recordings saved for a longer period of time, and accessible through the app, you will need the paid subscription. If I have a recording that I want to save, I simply save it to my iPhone camera roll.

Video subscription was answered by petcube as not being free. Users however have said that it's saving the videos for 4 hours. Which one is it?

The free access only allows live feed. If you want previous video recording, you have to pay ~$6 a month. But it’s not a continuous 4 hours to look back on, if you’re gone all day. It’s only about 30 second clips after the camera has detected motion. However, the recording must be delayed, because mine always seems to be after something has happened. I see my pet has changed locations, but I never actually see them making the change. Very delayed. Poor quality history, not worth $6 a month. And poor video quality recording

I just need to replace my Petcube cord. Can I purchase a replacement cord?

Crazy question. Could this be used as an indoor camera say to see if my children get home from school?

Yes, as long as it is placed in the room you want to monitor. You access the camera from the petcube app.
