College coeds hit the beach with sporting Ivy Leaguers on spring break in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Review: Movie - Great and entertaining movie. Review: Another Superior Film From The 1960's - If you want to know why some films from Hollywood made during the 1960's, 'Where The Boys Are' is a perfect example. When I first saw this film on television decades ago, it was pure escapism. What else could it be, when you grow up in a town of 300 people and you realize you will never experience the same things you are watching portrayed on the silver screen? The ensemble cast is brilliant - all young actors and actresses on their way up the ladder in Hollywood. And let's not forget the iconic title song of the film sung by Connie Francis. This film has so many things to offer the viewer - romance, comedy, drama, and a relevant happy ending. This movie is not going to solve the world's problems, but it sure will give the viewer an opportunity to block out the real world for about 2 hours. This film put Fort Lauderdale, Florida on the map for Spring Break college students. Worth every penny and definitely worthy of being in your DVD collection.

A Fun 60's Mother Dolores Hart Movie With Underlying Dark Themes
"Where The Boys Are?" stars a starlet turned nun and now known as Mother Dolores Hart. It tells the story of 4 college students and the situations and emotions that they felt as young adults. On the surface level, it was a fun movie with great music. Evidently, there are underlying dark themes involved like pre-marital sex, rape, date rape, immorality, alcoholism, and suicide involved as the story progresses. While these dark themes aren't overt, it presents to the viewer of things to come decades after. It was an innocent Hollywood film during its time and the themes remain relevant towards today's audience. Also, it was surprising the name of "Kinsey" was mentioned in one of the lines which came off as surprising particularly on things to come towards society with the prevalent sexual liberation that exists in today's modern world. Overall, it was fun to watch when Hollywood was at its innocence and seeing the likes of the young Mother Dolores Hart and the young George Hamilton were a delight to see.

Win A Date With George Hamilton
"Where the Boys Are" is an interesting exploration of the mores of the college set circa 1960. The film has the task of juggling it's intention of entertaining but also making a statement about the mating rituals of young adults and I think it succeeds on both fronts. What I also found interesting was how the film approached the topic of date rape without trivializing it. All seriousness aside, though, this is a fun and engaging film that holds up remarkably well. This is made possible by an able young cast(Dolores Hart, Paula Prentiss, Yvette Mimieux, Connie Francis, George Hamilton, Jim Hutton, Frank Gorshin) who inject the film with vibrancy. Prentiss and Hutton probably come off best with their comic rapport but Hart anchors the film well as it's moral center. Mimieux is moving as the most vulnerable of the group. Francis comes off equally well as a songstress and comedienne. This may sound trivial but the film should interest fans of the "Batman" TV series because it features two villains in it's cast, Gorshin(the Riddler) and Barbara Nichols(Maid Marilyn).

An oldie but Goldie
My mom wanted to watch one of her favorite movies while in the hospital. I was thrilled to be able to find this and watch it with her.

Relive the 1950s spring break experience
Anyone heading to Fort Lauderdale should watch this 50s classic movie, so much fun to see actual locations used in the movie and what the beach area used to look like. There are still two small hotels like the one in the movie, Silver Seas and Merriweather Inn, if you want to get an old Florida feel on your visit.

Romantic 50s and 60s
If you were a romantic teenager trying to grow up in the 50s and 60s you may remember this movie. This one along with a few others like A Summer Place & American Graffiti are very nostalgic of a much less complicated time when people didnโt live โ fastโ and AI had not replaced human connections yet. No time is absolutely perfect but I feel sorry for kids today because theyโll never experience the quality of life that we had back then.

The story, set against the lively backdrop of spring break, is timeless and entertaining. This DVD is a must-have for fans of classic cinema and anyone looking for a feel-good movie to enjoy again and again. Highly recommended!"
