The printer product has a special date on the main computer board that compares the expiration date of cartridges and printheads and checks for 'within' dates. On the printhead I found a printing date on top of the head. Some printers have a way to reset the date on the printer and that may be listed in your ownwer's manual. As My 1200dtwn printer does not print any more and the printheads are out of date, I will replace the out of date printheads and see what happens then. Why the price increase from $62 to $76 when these havent been in production for years?** A: The warranty date is two years after the cartridge was manufactured, but without seeing the box that the actual cartridge came in, it's impossible to tell you if it may have dried up.
