This pump, as excellent as it is, is 🚫 not submersible

Its not submersible, as they are usually used to pump water from showers or baths, taking the water from the plug hole. There are other Wale Gulper pumps that are submersible.

do you do a pipe flow sensor to fit on the shower pipes so it starts pumping as soon as the waters running in?

this type of pump is normal control by some sort of float switch that sits in the bilge, or may be via a 'Shower Sump System'

What size fuse should I use with this? Am using it as a battery backup sump pump.

on the 12volt side, I think I fitted a 10A cartridge fuse, but I must say it was years ago, however ,as a guide have a look at the size of the cable supplied with the pump, ie 1.5 mm cable can carry 14A, hope this helps

Hi Joseph, the Whale Gulper pumps a mixture of air and water from the water drain. E.g. on a boat, it would such the water out of the bath/shower stand and pump it outside. It works well and is commonly used by boaters.
