Works great connections is super dry

Seems ok so far, although it hasn't rained much recently. The main problem, as with many similar product, is that it doesn't specify what cable diameter it supports, so if you have one that's wider than usual it might be difficult to make it fit. I had to sand the two extremity to make it work with my cable, and even like this it doesn't close completely.

As a Motorhome owner I carry on the MH different 16amp power cable addon extensions so that any 'hook up' I encounter is not a problem. However, there is always the risk of rain penetrating the connection, so I first brought one of these Socket Covers in France from a Hypermarket for 3euros, and later wished that I had bought a couple more at the same time. When I found Socket covers on Amazon marketplace I ordered them. They are well made - but were delivered without the hangers that are often needed to support your 'hook up' connection where site multi sockets are full and you have to connect to the remaining spare socket using a cord through the hanger. The supplier did send me the hangers seperately - ensure that you get them if you use camp site 'hook ups'. Masterplug claim they are only splash proof covers, but I have used in torrential rain and they keep the rain out - one major point - these socket covers are only suitable for 'thick'/ artic type 3 core cable /15/16 amp max 250v - single phase. They shoudn't be used with twin core cable, it isn't thick enough to provide the water proof seal at entry and exit. Now I have my missing hangers I am pleased with the Covers and the fact that the Seller agreed to send them to me . So overall an OKAY product, Seller and pleased customer.

I wanted to use the cover to join two caravan round three pin plug and sockets together. Having removed part of the internal construction the plug and socket are still just too big to allow the cover to close properly and be water proof. A standard square three pin plug and socket used for home extension leads will fit in it and be water proof.

Use this with my Bosch electric lawnmower to provide much-needed extra reach. It works very well, although it was a little bit difficult getting everything inside this cover, but that was my fault for choosing an extension lead (EXTRASTAR 1 Way Gang Single Socket Mains Power Extension Lead 13A Fused UK 3Pin Plug - 20 Metre Cable) that has a plug socket set at 90 degrees to the line of the cable! Still, I managed to squeeze the lot in eventually and all good.

Yes it protects against the weather very well. I don`t think the Plug and Socket Cover will last long and will need gorilla tape of similar to hold it together soon as a white stress mark has appeared on the hinge already. Only used less than 6 times , I need to open the case to get my extension lead plug through my letter box then connect to my car charger. I do this almost every day and is the reason for my doubts re the hinge. They are not expensive and other than the hinge very good .Will see in the long run how it pans out.

This is a great little box to protect external electricals- as a possible alternative to the much larger (and more expensive rectangular box (also by Masterplug). Be aware it is not IP44 rated but only against splashes. It is well made but has no seals around the box closures, only for the cable inlets. One of those cable seals was deformed by a plastic clip that Masterplug add so that it can be hung on a hook in shops. I suspect, therefore, that will be the case with all supplied. I bought this Masterplug box for the battery/controls of external Christmas lights set (my lighting set takes three AA batteries). This box is perfect for that size, and could probably house a couple of those so I could keep two sets of batteries/controls dry in this one Masterplug box. Although the Xmas light controls say they are OK for external use, I bought this box as last year they became damp and failed. I am hoping this Masterplug box will do the trick.
