Denman D24 Detangling Rake Comb

Really nice combs. I bought a second one. No sharp bits and teeth the perfect distance apart. Worth paying a bit more for.

When I purchased this comb in December 2014, I owned one already - exactly the same Denman comb but older and dark silvery grey in colour, not black. As I find it excellent for combing through conditioner and detangling wet hair, I wanted to buy another to keep at my partner’s house. The original comb is still in use two or three times a week back at home. I have very long, fine, thick, fairly straight, unprocessed hair. It's in reasonably good condition. Well, something seems to have happened to these combs in the intervening years, and it’s not good! This one tears at my hair, is slow to detangle, and doesn’t seem to want to engage with the hair somehow. I noticed an awful lot of hair left in the shower tray afterwards too. There are visibly sharp seams between the comb's teeth. Having only used it two or three times since its purchase, I’m giving up on it and have ordered another brand of detangling comb to try. Will report back on that one if it’s any better.

I have very fine, curly hair & am very tender headed. This comb is FANTASTIC! I wish my mother had bought one for me when I was a little girl because we could have avoided all the tears & my lifelong aversion to washing my hair because of the dreaded detangling. It gets rid of tangles so smoothly and quickly I'm always surprised! I've avoided combs for years because they'd break in my hair or were just too much of a pain to use but this one is ace. I can't recommend it enough!

Great for detangling. Use it every day. Used this comb for 20 years. It’s the best. Sadly recently left it at a spa, didn’t think I’d be able to get another. So thrilled to have tracked one down!

Bought to supplement a Mason Pearson detangling comb, which does not separate my strands as well as this comb when dry. Compared to Mason Pearson comb, this comb has a 'woven' tooth pattern, rather than a straight-tooth alignment. This tends to work better when my hair, 1 1/2 feet long, is dry, particularly at my ends. In this respect, it works wonderfully after some finger detangling. The comb is seamless, with no manufacturing defects or anything for your hair to catch on. The comb's handle spouts a groove, presumably to make various grip styles a bit easier. It is, however, a black plastic comb. The aforementioned MP comb is a luxury product. It feels like a piece of amber in your hands, has a greater weight, looks nicer, and is more pleasurable to run through your hair like a multi-finger massage. This comb, however, is all function, and it does exactly what it advertises, and at under $10 is a far better value than cheaply-made drugstore combs and the like.
