Rotary Tool/Multitool Combitool Multi Purpose Heavy Duty 170W with 120PC Accessory Set & Storage Case – Variable Speed Switch

I bought this to replace my old rotary tool which after 5 years of inappropriate use finally stopped working. Given how well my previous tool had performed and survived from all the abuse it was an easy choice to buy the same brand again. This model is a little more powerful than my old one (170W vs. 130W), a little smaller and easier to hold thanks to the updated design. It comes with a number of accessories in a small compact case which was not damaged on arrival. The accessories alone are not sufficient for most people but is easily enough to get you started. My only complaint would be the rotary tool does not have a case (Thankfully I still have my old case from way back when and so I will continue to use that) but given the price I think they have compromised In the right places. Overall I would recommend this to anyone wanting a premium quality rotary tool without the premium price.

Great little tool, but I do worry a little that if you drop it there's no safety cut out (like no "trigger" to take your finger off of). But if you're careful, it works great. Loads of bits included, and instructions that make sense. Two top tips though, the cutting disks are VERY brittle and I broke a couple just trying to put them on, so take care - but you get loads so a few mishaps are going to be expected. And the "woollen pads" that come with it (as the instructions say - I read them after messing about!) are to be used as backing for the sanding disks - not to try and polish your coin collection (did I feel daft wondering why it wasn't working!). All in all, a nice tool with loads of attachments, variable speed, and a nice storage box for the accessories. Great value for a good product.

I bought it as an alternative to Dremel as I didn't want to spend too much. It works really well. Quite powerful and great for small, awkward jobs.

Good while it lasted, excellent really considering the low price! But of course, the build quality at this price point is never going to be up to heavy usage, or stand the test of time. To be fair, this is kind of expected, and I probably abused it a bit more than it was designed for. Bought some standard 3mm shank carbide rotary burrs to use with it, which initially worked fine and I was able to use it as a rudimentary "die grinder" to port a turbo exhaust housing. I was able to complete the job as planned, but towards the end I noticed that after sustained usage in this manor the shanks were no longer being properly gripped by the collet, despite being tightened up as far as it would go. I'd tighten it back up as much as I could, using the little included spanner, but after a short while the shank would just start to get loose again, eventually slipping out and forcing me to stop again to re-tighten. This has gotten worse and worse, to the point where it can no longer grip 3mm shanks at all, unless I wrap some electrical tape round them, which still eventually works loose. It still works with the more "light usage" accessories such as the sanding pads, but anything that requires some force like a grinder or cutting discs will just slip if any moderate pressure is applied. I think the problem stems (pun marginally intended) from the the core shaft of the machine not being entirely perfectly centered, as other reviewers have noted, giving rise to small vibrations that gradually get worse and shake things apart over time. It does tend to vibrate a lot. Also you can only tighten the collet so far with the little spanner before the plastic outer casing of the tool itself starts to separate, i.e. there's only so much tightening torque you can apply before the shaft slips past the "stop" that you apply by holding down the little button in the neck of the tool when changing accessories. So overall not pad for the price, and probably ok if only used lightly, but for any heavier/extended usage it simply won't last. I think 3 stars is fair!

Item arrived quickly, but quality is extremely poor , i would not recommend it to anyone

Like this tool very much.. have recently started experimenting with wood carving and this tool is great for the job.. just need to realise that cheap bits do not make a good job and burn out too quickly.. but as for the took it is easy to use, comfortable to hold and you can adjust the speed easily. It comes with a respectable selection of attachments that wont last forever but will get you going. It also includes three small drill bit that I find handy. Would happily recommend this item.
