Germolene is perfectly good as an antiseptic. However, this recent version is NOT the same as it was around twenty years ago. It now contains miniscule anaesthetic and, as a result, has nothing like the same effectiveness in numbing pain. **Q: Is the pain relief ingredient an nsaid?** A: That word isn't on tube & I couldn't find anything about not using Pain Killers at same time. I have always used for Antiseptic use more than pain. We're outdoors people camping etc. If scratched or bumped out side this small tube is great as a quick clean and Dab on till we can clean & or treat when able to. Children seem to be reassured by a tiny dab until we can wash and dress if needed later on.
