By not asking it to do what it can't, we have had wires last as long as five years, but you can't count on it. If you love cheese and making cheese platters, you need this slicer! It is the absolute best. Tip: Do not use for slicing hard cheeses.

If you like wire cheese cutters this is your cheapest option and it comes with some spare wires, which is important because sooner or later the wire will break and, unless replaced, leave the gadget useless. You can cut two thicknesses of cheese slices on the two opposite sides: thick and thicker. You can only cut cheeses of the consistency of Danish Havarti, i.e. soft, but not too soft - not brie, or camembert, for example.
