Review: Fantastic Workbook – Engaging, Easy to Use, and Effective! - I absolutely LOVE the Brain Quest Workbook: 4th Grade Revised Edition! I bought this because my kids were spending way too much time on electronics, and I noticed their grades starting to slip. I decided to introduce some workbooks to help them refocus, and out of the three I purchased (including a Social and Emotional Learning workbook and a Creative Writing & Games workbook), this one is by far my favorite! It covers so many wonderful subjects in a way that’s fun and easy to follow. The instructions are clear, which makes it simple for me to go over the material with my child—I honestly feel like a teacher when we work through it together! I also love that there’s an answer key in the back, so I can check her work and give feedback. My daughter really enjoys using this workbook, and I’ve already noticed a huge positive change in her attitude toward learning. She’s more engaged and confident, and I’m hopeful her teachers will see the same improvement soon. If you’re looking for a comprehensive, well-designed workbook that makes learning enjoyable and effective, I highly recommend this one. It’s a great investment in your child’s education! Review: Engaging, Well-Rounded 4th‑Grade Practice With Parent Support Built In - Purchase context: Picked this up to supplement schoolwork at home and keep practice fun. Using it 3–4 times a week alongside other Spectrum workbooks. Unboxing/setup: Sturdy, colorful workbook with a progress sticker map, sticker sheet, completion certificate, and a mini Smart Card Q&A deck. Layout is kid‑friendly with short, self‑contained pages. Specs verified: Subjects: Vocabulary, language arts, reading, math (word problems, multiplication/division, fractions/decimals, geometry/measurement), social studies, science, plus a technology section (computer science, coding, logic) Alignment: National/state standards; section openers include tips for parents Extras: Progress map with stickers, completion certificate, mini Q&A card deck Format: Mixed activities, games, and exercises; revised illustrations/content to reflect diverse families/experiences Performance & testing: The bite‑size activities keep attention high, and the mix of word problems, reading passages, and skill drills reinforces classroom topics without feeling repetitive. The new tech section adds timely logic/coding practice. Parent notes at the start of sections make it easy to preview concepts and guide help. It pairs well with a more formal test‑practice book for assessments. Durability/maintenance: Quality paper stands up to pencil and erasing. Perfect binding is fine if you don’t force it to lie completely flat. Who it’s for: Families seeking engaging practice across all 4th‑grade subjects with built‑in parent guidance Kids who benefit from short, varied tasks and visual layouts Who should skip: Those wanting only test‑format pages; this leans fun/interactive over pure test simulation Tips to get the best results: Use the progress sticker map to set mini‑goals and keep momentum Alternate harder math pages with lighter vocab/science pages to avoid fatigue Keep the mini Smart Card deck in the car or kitchen for quick review bursts Pros: Broad, standards‑aligned coverage with a fun, varied format Helpful parent guidance and clear explanations Motivating extras (stickers, certificate, Q&A cards) Updated, inclusive visuals and real‑world topics Tech/coding logic section adds modern skills Cons: Perfect binding doesn’t lie flat like a spiral Not a substitute for full test‑style practice tests Bottom line: A lively, comprehensive workbook that makes 4th‑grade practice enjoyable while still covering all the essentials—great as a daily companion to classroom learning.

Good practice workbook
The workbook has been great for reinforcing what my daughter learns in school. The problems are well-organized and gradually get harder, which helps build confidence. The answer key in back is really helpful for parents. My only complaint is that some sections could use more practice problems, especially for tricky topics like fractions. Overall, it's a solid choice for extra practice at home or over summer break. Good value for the price. Recommended for: Parents wanting affordable, straightforward practice that covers 4th grade basics.

Long-Term Summer Staple That Keeps Learning Going
These Brain Quest Summer workbooks have become a yearly tradition for us, and they’ve been a really helpful way to keep my daughter engaged and confident between school years. We typically get the version for the next grade she’s going into, which makes the work feel like a smooth preview rather than pressure or repetition. The activities are varied and approachable, so she doesn’t get bored, and it really helps prevent that “summer slide” where kids forget key skills. I like that it keeps her mentally active without feeling like a full school day, and it gives a nice routine of light learning through the summer months. Overall, it’s been a consistent, teacher-friendly tool that supports her progress year after year without turning summer into school.

This Brain Quest book is excellent
This Brain Quest book is excellent. My son has been using it for practice since the second volume, and he has made significant progress in both language and mathematics.

These are so great.
Great supplementary books for homeschool education. They don’t actually teach the course- that’s up to you. But they’re fun and engaging and a great supplement to your program. My son loves these and they have stickers and fun exercises, too! Get one and see for yourself.

Best workbook
I have gotten many workbooks for my son and this one blows every other one out of the water!! There is so many "extras" to assist parents and kids, they make a big difference. I LOVE the flashcards. I cut them out and laminated them. My husband can use them when im not available for the worksheets. The reward map is great for my son to put on the wall and track his progress. The worksheets are very bright and look like they make learning fun while covering important subjects. I want to get more of these for summer vacation time.

Perfect but
Exercises from every subject is too short I think the better thing is separated subjects in different books

Different subjects
Good book with coverage of many subjects to enhance the knowledge. Have bought no 3 and 4 both.

These books are so good
A lot of bang for your buck in these. Break's down grammar points simply. Balances easy work (just circling things) with harder tasks (writing out long sentences). My bilingual daughter (9) is currently going through it. Helps to keep her English up to speed. Bought my younger son a BQ book, too.
