does the handle get hot?

The metal handles do get hot on the big pot as does the metal handles on the glass lids. The skillets have rubber type handles and they do not get hot.

Has anyone have an issue with these pants smelling weird whenever you're cooking with them?

No, mine look brand new still and I love them! I only ever hand wash them once they have cooled. I never cook on high either. I haven't had any issues or smell from them.
