Kryptonite Evolution Mini-5 Bike U-Lock, 13mm Steel Shackle Heavy Duty

I love this lock and how easy it is to use - lock and unlock. The size is great and portable and provides peace of mind.

This itty-bitty ulok is what the doctor ordered, actually the shank is 5 1/2 in. long which works really well on my road bike, it secures the front wheel onto the down tube, measure from top of the down tube to the inside of the front rim and it will fit. Why add to the weight problem right? It has a good security rating as well. This is truly worth the five stars. Happy Trails ! Trouble free transaction.

Really disappointed in Kryptonite as of late. I know they had a good reputation in the past and a lot of people use them, but I’ve never had luck with them. My first lock just never worked right. The cylinder constantly stuck and would take several tries to unlock. That happened for about three years and then it got to the point to where it took more than ten minutes of turning to get it unlocked. Thinking it was a one off thing I just bought new one. This time I did everything right, I made sure the key was fully inserted every time before turning as stated in the directions. I lubricated it with graphite powder. I treated it like it was a faberge egg which is ridiculous because it should be able to take some abuse. I mean, the name of the company is kryptonite. And after all that, guess what? Five months in and the lock is already going. It still works, but I doubt it will for long. Four out of five times I go to lock it, the key just turns and turns. I need to turn it about three full revolutions before it actually locks. I’m currently working to get a replacement, but they refuse to tell me how long that will take. They just want me to send the lock back so they can do some “testing” and they refuse to tell me what that means and provide a timeframe. I work as a bike courier and cannot work without a lock. They don’t care, they’re more worried about the handful of people who will abuse their warranty policy rather than the potential life long customers. They might send a knew one and they might not. I don’t care at this point. They just lost a customer.

Heavy but small - fits in the basket of my bike without taking up too much space. My Bike hasn’t been stolen yet! Get a wristlet for the keys!

Lock does the job haven't had any problems

What can I say about Kryptonite locks? I’ve been using them for over a decade, and they’ve never let me down. From living in Los Angeles and parking my bike in some less-than-ideal areas to now living in a small seaside town, this lock has consistently kept my bike safe. Needed a more compact lock to secure my bike. Have a late 1980s road bike I use to commute. The Mini 5 comes with a nice mount to affix the lock to the frame and it's not in the way. I can keep this lock on the bike all the time and have it handy for quick stops. However, when I am leaving my bike a while I use 2 U Locks, one which is larger than the Mini 5 that allows locking the bike to a rack. So far the mount has worked out. I had OnGuard U Locks with mounts and those mounts eventually cracked. Kryptonite's mount for this lock appears sturdier.

Got new bike recently and after long research I decided to go for Evolution mini 5. Lock is very sturdy and also practical and small. Didn’t wanted to buy bigger ones as I like to have on the bike smallest amount of add-ons as possible to keep it light. Yes, you cannot lock the bike on every post possible but you always have around some good fence or something so there is no problem on being “too small”. It is very easy to lock and unlock. Also, lock holder is great, no movements, no noises or anything. You pay one time 50€ for a good lock and you are good to go for a long long time, also most of the bikes stolen are ones with cheap chains. Good luck in cutting this xD

Ich habe das Schloss für die tägliche Fahrt zur Arbeit angeschafft (als Alternative zum Hiplock gold, welches mit Rucksack doch eher unhandlich/ungeschickt für mich ist). An "moderneren" Fahrradständern mit hohem Bügel zum Anlehnen, lässt sich das Pendelfahrrad (Cyclocross) komfortabel nur mit diesem kompakten Bügelschloss anschließen (bspw. vor dem Büro). Das Schloss ist sehr kompakt und lässt sich gut an den entsprechenden Halterungen gängiger Fahrradrucksäcke befestigen (Aevor bike pack in meinem Fall). Eine Befestigungsmöglichkeit für den Fahrradrahmen liegt bei - diese nutze ich allerdings nicht, weshalb ich wenig dazu sagen kann außer, dass auch diese einen wertigen Eindruck macht. Was ich sehr gut finde ist die Abdeckung des Schlüssellochs mit einem kleinen, robust wirkenden Schiebemechanismus - der Wetterschutz ist an vielen anderen (auch hochwertigen) Schlössern oft ein Problem auf Dauer. Ich habe das Schloss im Bundle mit dem KryptoFlex 410 erworben, welches an weniger "komfortablen" Abstellplätzen gute Dienste verrichtet (das ist ein Stahlseil, mittels dessen das Anschließen an Laternenpfahl o. Ä. in Kombination mit dem Bügelschloss möglich wird.). Ich bin bisher sehr zufrieden und habe Vertrauen, dass mein Pendelfahrrad Abends noch dort steht, wo es morgens abgestellt wurde ;)

トレックfx2に使用。 地球ロックも何とかできて頑丈でいい商品です。 取り付けは、ドリンクホルダーと干渉するので、難儀します。（2枚目） 重心を安定できる箇所は3枚目です。 追記コンビニなどにある太めのパイプの柵には、フレームごとロックは難しいです。 防犯アラームと併用しています。
