Do they make a Zigbee or Z-Wave version?

They do not (yet), depending on how savvy you are, I used an ESP 32 development board to build a Bluetooth bridge from my Home Assistant home automation platform, (leveraging ESPHome) so that I can control them programmatically based on conditions around the house. I.e. When the TV turns on, close the blinds.

The wording is not clear - will I need another battery at 8 months or will 1 good charge last up to 8 months?? Not clear.

The unit is rechargeable. You can stick the included solar panel to your window and you will never have to worry about it.

Has anyone tried these on Coolaro sun shades by chance and if so how well does it work? These shades use twist-to-lift for open and closing

I don't know for sure but I don't think so. I think the rod would be too thick and the torque of rolling up a shade would be much greater than the torque of just opening and closing a blind. I think?
