Smart book
Fast delivery and a much chunkier book than expected. A gift for a smart minded 11 year old who wants to be an engineer. Hoping he will like it as its got some amazing pictures and is something a bit different and grown up - am impressed at the cost.

A must buy for all your engineers
I bought this (latest copy) for my Daughter's boyfriend who is an undergraduate engineer. The historical lessons of great engineers that I feel is underplayed during our formal education. The DK book format is brilliant and easy to dip in and out of or to work your way through it. A great buy for any engineer!

Excellent book
This book tastes the reader on journey through the history of engineering from the ancients up to the modern period. Areas that I thought that wouldnt be in it are. Look at the index section to get an idea of how vast the scope of topics and areas that are covered are. The diagrams and photos make the book appealing to all, including engineers.

A beautiful piece of work
As long as Dorling Kindersley continue to produce works of art like this, the physical book will never cede to the ereader. It's a hulking great hardback brimming with beautiful photography and images. If you have a keen interest in the history of engineering or know someone that does, you won't find a more beautiful or enjoyable way to learn about it.
