Review: A must buy to help regain your life! - We were really stumped regarding what was now allowed in this new diet of low fibre, and what seemed an increasingly unhealthy, diet. This book has helped regain a balanced perspective for my partner with Crohn's ( including strictures). Although American, there are excellent recipes for all IBD conditions, including vegetarian. Great descriptions of the conditions too. Really helpful, thank you! Review: Helpful guide when diagnosed with IBD. - It's very informative and helpful in teaching me how to eat now that I have digestive problems.

Really easy to follow and adapt.
Bought this because I was beginning to find dinner times really stressful with all the different dietery requirements in our house but this has made life so much easier. It's a little too early to know if the change in diet has positively impacted on flare ups because we have only been uusing it for a few weeks. The book is full of general info. and easy to adapt 'tips' throughout.

The book was in a good condition and was perfect for me as it contained ...
Having Crohn's Disease but wasn't sure what I could or couldn't eat. Found that in most book shops these books were quite a lot more expensive and didn't want to pay a lot of money. The book was in a good condition and was perfect for me as it contained all the things I needed to know, with regards to what I could and couldn't eat as well as lots of delicious recipes to try as well

Recommended
Bought for my father who is a difficult eater and frequently has stress-related digestive difficulties... my mother has joined the fray and cooked up a few of the recipes for him. Very clearly written and one of the best aspects is that each recipe has advice on what to do if you are experiencing a flare-up (ie. how to adapt the recipe). Tasty-sounding recipes too, and not overly fussy to prepare, just using good, everyday ingredients.

A great navigation tool
Bought this for my mum and dad who are coming to terms with understanding my dad's recent diagnosis of colitis. Mum has described the recipes and tips included in the notes as extremely helpful in guiding her through dad's symptoms and likely causes, things to help fix symptoms and what avoid to prevent flare ups.

Highly recommend!
I was recently diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, and have been trying to figure out what foods I should be eating and which I should try and avoid in order to help my colon not become so irritated. I have found this book extremely helpful, not just in the recipes but also in the medical information presented in the first part. Unlike other IBD "cookbooks", this one actually gives you detailed and accurate information about different diseases, medications and treatments, and basically what it all means for those suffering with IBD. The recipes are super easy to follow with ingredients that are not exotic or difficult to find (and I live in a small town with limited grocery options). I absolutely love how each recipe has info about what you can swap ingredients for if you are flaring or trying to avoid or increase specific nutrients in your diet. I also love how this book explains why certain ingredients are used so that you know not just how to make IBD-friendly meals but also why you are using certain things to make those meals. This is a wonderful tool for anyone looking to increase their knowledge about IBD and IBD recipes.

Informative and easy
My mom was recently diagnosed with colitis and I got her this book. She read the entire thing and found it super helpful. It is hard to come by true information and this book got straight to the point offering solutions on things to eat and avoid.

Must read book on UC
Diagnosed about a month ago with UC. I did research online and purchased a few books. This is by far the best 101 course in understanding UC or Crohn's. The first 100 pages of the book give you information on both diseases. It is organized in a clean and simple way to walk you through what you need to know to have a basic understanding of symtoms to treatments and in between. The rest of the book is recipes. I've made a few and they are great. Recommendations: Orange Oatmeal Scones on page 127 Chicken Burgers page 219 - use turkey, leave out the lemon zest, add 1/8 cup chopped white onions, add 2 tablespoons almound flour, add 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed, add 2 tablespoons shredded parmesan -- shape into 8 meatballs -- cook in oven with some olive oil (about 20 mins at 375) one of the best meatballs i've ever had
