Google Pixel 7 Pro: A Camera Powerhouse with a Few Drawbacks
As a long-time Google Pixel user, having owned everything from the Nexus One to the Pixel 5, the Pixel 7 Pro felt like the next natural step in my tech evolution. After spending some quality time with it, I can confidently say that Google has stepped up its game yet again. This phone is a photography powerhouse with an incredible screen, but it’s not without its quirks. Here are my personal highlights and a couple of the pain points.Camera: A Photographer's DreamIf there’s one thing Google consistently nails, it’s the camera. And the Pixel 7 Pro continues that tradition with a vengeance. The triple-camera setup—featuring a 50 MP wide lens, 12 MP ultra-wide, and a 48 MP telephoto—paired with Google’s AI-driven software, delivers photos that are frankly astounding. I’ve used it in all sorts of lighting conditions, and it never disappoints.Night Sight, in particular, is a game-changer. I’ve taken photos in near darkness, and the results are bright, clear, and detailed without that nasty noise you often get from other smartphones. The Super Res Zoom also surprised me. Zooming in up to 30x, I expected pixelated messes, but somehow Google’s AI magic produces crisp, usable photos that I wouldn’t expect from any smartphone.A fun bonus is the Magic Eraser feature. It’s incredibly satisfying to just tap and remove that random passerby in the background of an otherwise perfect photo. And the new Cinematic Blur video feature gives you that nice DSLR bokeh effect for those who, like me, dabble in mobile video shooting. However, the camera bump… oh boy. I get that Google needed space for those advanced sensors, but the protrusion is hard to ignore. It makes the phone wobble when flat, and in my case, it even interfered with wireless charging in my Tesla. It’s one of those small annoyances that doesn’t ruin the experience but can be a dealbreaker for some.Display: Stunning and SmoothThe 6.7-inch OLED display on the Pixel 7 Pro is one of the most stunning screens I’ve ever used. The colors are vibrant, blacks are deep, and everything looks razor-sharp thanks to the QHD+ resolution. Whether I’m gaming, watching Netflix, or just browsing, it feels immersive. The 120Hz refresh rate makes a noticeable difference when scrolling or switching between apps. Everything feels buttery smooth and responsive. Even outside in bright sunlight, the screen holds its own, making it easy to see details. The curved edges, while mostly aesthetic, add a premium feel to the phone’s design.Drawbacks: Fingerprint Reader and That Camera BumpNow, here’s where things get a little less rosy. The in-display fingerprint reader—while improved over previous models—still leaves something to be desired. It’s slow compared to what other phones offer, and it’s finicky if your fingers or the screen aren’t perfectly clean. There were moments where I’d try multiple times to unlock the phone, which, let’s be honest, is annoying when you’re in a rush. And then, as mentioned earlier, there’s the camera bump. Aesthetically, I’m not a fan, but practically, it’s worse. Without a case, it feels like you’re always risking scratching the lens or tipping the phone over on a flat surface. It’s a trade-off for such a powerful camera system, but still a bit of a nuisance.Clean Android ExperienceOn the software front, the Pixel 7 Pro is a breath of fresh air. Stock Android 13 with zero bloatware. I can’t overstate how much I appreciate that. No unwanted apps cluttering up the system, and the phone runs fast and smoothly right out of the box. Plus, with Google’s hardware, you’re always first in line for Android updates, which is a nice perk for long-term users like me.ConclusionIn summary, the Pixel 7 Pro is a beast of a phone, especially if you’re big into photography or simply enjoy a clean Android experience. The camera is easily the best I’ve used on a smartphone, and the display makes using the phone a real pleasure. That said, the fingerprint reader could be better, and the camera bump is definitely a love-it-or-hate-it feature. If you’re like me and value cutting-edge camera tech and a clutter-free phone, the Pixel 7 Pro will not disappoint. Just be prepared for a few quirks along the way.

Refurbished = Worth It
I recently made the leap from a Pixel 4a to a refurbished Google Pixel 7 Pro, and the difference has been nothing short of remarkable. After a week of use, I can confidently say that this was an upgrade well worth the investment.Having experienced dwindling battery life with my Pixel 4a, I was initially hesitant about the transition. However, my concerns were quickly alleviated when I discovered the astonishing battery life of the Google Pixel 7 Pro. The refurbished device not only looks and performs like new but also boasts an impressive battery that keeps up with my demanding usage throughout the day.The transition from my old phone to the Pixel 7 Pro was seamless, thanks to the user-friendly setup process. Within minutes, I had all my apps, data, and settings transferred, and I was ready to explore the enhanced features of my new device. The shipping experience via FedEx was prompt, and the packaging was secure, ensuring that the refurbished phone arrived in pristine condition. It's clear that the refurbishment process was thorough, as I couldn't find a single flaw or sign of wear on the device. What truly sets this refurbished Pixel 7 Pro apart is the significant cost savings. Coming from a Pixel 4a, I was delighted to enjoy the latest technology at almost half the cost of the manufacturer's suggested retail price. This has been a game-changer for me, providing exceptional value for the money. In summary, my journey from the Pixel 4a to the refurbished Google Pixel 7 Pro has been a joyous one. The battery life is outstanding, the device looks and feels like new, and the cost savings are substantial. If you're contemplating an upgrade or considering a refurbished phone, this Pixel 7 Pro is a fantastic choice. I'm beyond pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a premium smartphone experience without the premium price tag.

So far so good
Was a bit uneasy about buying refurb phone initially.Physical condition looked good, no noticeable flaw, but I also didn't do a very thorough inspection. Overall no issue of using it after a week of use.

Russian Roulette
The phone itself is great, but just know that you're playing Russian Roulette if you buy from this seller. You're not guaranteed a fully unlocked phone, usually just with one carrier. Also, the condition of the phone usually doesn't reflect the actual quality. I bought a phone that clearly had a botched screen replacement. It shattered right away, and now I can't return it because it's "not covered in the warranty."Be aware that this is not a risk free purchase.

PIXEL is a Winner / top notch
Perfect phone. Excellent new like with no issues. Used as a tradein with Xfinity. I spent $200 on phone and received a $830 credit for a latest model phone. Pixel makes a VERY GOOD phone. I will definitely buy again. Pixel is as good as any from the other 2 guys. I luv Pixel!!!

its exactly as described!!
I was a bit of a sceptic when buying a refurbished phone. Especially with some of the negative reviews about the product. But i can say atleast for me, the process was smooth. they ship super fast and i got it within a week. no issues there. The phone condition is exactly as they promised. i ordered mine in excellent condition and it came in excellent condition with a few very (and i mean very) minor scratches on the back which is not noticeable at all, the screen as well as the rest of the phone was immaculate. The phone itself is good, battery is okay it can make it through the day but certainly not mind blowing. the screen is good, gets pretty bright. the software is where the magic is with a pixel and it certainly delivers, the user experience is smooth and that kinda makes up for the short comings of this device.overall its a pretty good phone that couldve been great but google dropped the ball with optimizing the battery to make it compete with all the other flagship phones. Would recommend. Also its unlocked, i know a few people said there came locked but mine didnt .

Más de lo que el usuario casual necesita
Llegó a tiempo.

What Does Refurbished Actually Mean???
I purchased this "refurbished" Google Pixel 7 Pro at a slightly reduced price because most of the reviews were very positive. Did I get the ONE bad apple in the bushel?? (Or ONE bad Google pixel I should say)Also, the Sellers Ad stated the condition was "Excellent".What does "refurbished" actually mean?I thought refurbished meant it was previously owned, but was returned because of defect, but the phone has since been repaired or "refurbished" and is now being sold again at a discounted price.I was wrong! I now believe "refurbished" actually means previously owned, returned because of defects, NOT REPAIRED and resold at a discounted price WITH THE SAME DEFECTS!! 😡🤦♀️It looked great right out of the box although it did not arrive in an original Google box. No biggie right? I've never needed to use the box on any of my previous phones. The original white Google charging cord was replaced with a black one which had a usb-A plug on one end and usb-C on the other end. Again, no biggie. I don't really care what color the charging cord is! Although it should of had a usb-C plug on BOTH ends of the cord with a usb-A adapter.Upon inspection, it had no signs of use, no scratches, no marks. Flawless really. So maybe that is why the seller advertised the condition as "Excellent"??....BUT, it does not operate or function with excellence!! 🙄A few of the issues with this "refurbished" pixel 7 pro:Both the fingerprint reader and face recognition did not work. Always after a couple of failed attempts I would be forced to use my 'pin' code. I tried deleting that finger print and created a new finger print hoping to resolve the issue? NOPEI deleted the 'Face data' and went through the set up again for face recognition hoping to fix this issue? NOPE still did not work!It was as this point I started to question, "is this what 'refurbished' means"? Mmm??I was still somewhat okay, given the discounted price, that I could live without these functions. BUT THEN....The Black Screen of Death!! (I only used the phone for TWO DAYS!)It had a FULL BATTERY when the phone prompted me to do an update for one of my apps. (my home security system) Needed a restart after the update yet the phone did NOT RESTART! TOTAL BLACK SCREEN! WOULD NOT POWER ON! 😲I grabbed my laptop and searched for how to fix this?I found this info "Press the power + volume up buttons and hold for 30 seconds". It worked!! BUT ONLY that time...I assumed the issue might have been caused by the app update, but the next day (day 3) while using a completely different app, the phone started acting weird again when the app was asking for my password. The keyboard kept switching from 'qwerty' to 'symbols' ALL BY ITS SELF! Back and forth between the two. Impossible for me to type my correct password this way!! I could not close the app because the phone froze! I had to turn the phone off THEN....The Black Screen of Death AGAIN!!This time, the former method did not work!! Yesterdays black screen was a warning!Maybe other reviewers got lucky? Maybe I got the only BAD "refurbished" phone?? 🤷♀️You know that old saying, "Fool me once, shame on you".No more "refurbished" phones for me!!
