Paid £50 for them. Researched various alternatives, such as Logitech computer speakers etc as I use these to play music from my laptop. These are a decent size with volume,bass and treble controls. They go loud and if you can't get the sound how you want it using the speaker function then you can adjust the settings equalizers on the computer/itunes etc. Would suggest getting some better cables as the supplied ones are flimsy. You can get some on here cheaply. Only thing i don't like is the cable that links the speakers is wired in to the powered speaker, so I can't change it easily. I have also bought an extension to place the speakers further apart. But all in all the speakers have transformed my music. I can hear background instruments I've never noticed before. A fantastic purchase. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Some faults, but good value and seem well made. *by A***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 April 2015* These look well built and have a reassuring weight to them. They are big speakers, so many of us will have to put them on the floor, so it's a shame they don't have an inline volume control and on/off switch that can be put on the desk. I haven't had them long, but will give a preliminary review.The treble units are very good and capture cymbals and high hats very nicely. The bass response is also good provided the bass control is not turned up more than a third clockwise otherwise the bass gets muddy and poorly defined (you can't expect miracles from that little 3 inch cone!) It's the all important mid range where I'm getting trouble. As supplied, the speakers have a rather withdrawn soundstage in the mid range. I have used the graphic equaliser on my sound card to boost the range 500Hz to 4kHz by 3-4dB and that improves things - vocals and acoustic guitar now stand out better. I have also reduced the bass below 32Hz by 3 dB which makes the bass tighter. In short, these are rather superior desktop speakers but don't expect them to fill your house with sound for a party.I get no hum from the speakers like some others are troubled by - maybe they should try a new connecting cable or check their earthing? The connector between the L and R speaker is too short and rather thin considering it will have to carry up to 4 amps at high volumes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome *by C***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 October 2017* This is second time I own these speakers. Like for me they are the best speakers 2.0 in this price range. I replaced them with Creative T40 and they sucked butt, I had to download sound equalizer to give them the punch. These babies are good as they are, they dont need any special enhancement. They are quite big, heavy and made of wood which will give you nice deep bass.
