Hss cobalt etc drill bits are cut to 135 degree angle. this sharpener cuts at 118 degrees (according to reviews). will this ruin my drill bits.

I don't think it will ruin them, they just might not cut as effectively. Different drill point angles are more effective in different materials. 118 degrees is a good compromise for general use with standard geometry drills. More modern geometries with split points and the like work well at 130 - 140 degrees. The more obtuse angles are better with harder materials. If you're drilling stainless steel every day, you might like to stick with 135 degrees. If you're doing more general DIY and hobby stuff from time to time, 118 degrees should be fine. If there's an expert out there, they might give you better advice. As you've invested in the more expensive cobalt HSS bits, it might be worth continuing shopping around for a reasonably-priced sharpener that will do this angle. I haven't come across one yet.

Does this sharpen masonry bits

I'm afraid not. Only conventionally pointed twist drills, for use on metal, wood, etc.

Can I change or dress grinding wheels?

Hi, It is not possible to dress the grinding wheel on the SMS2008 but we do the replacement parts. The part number required is SMS2008.10.
