Lovely design
I am a Airbus A380 pilot and are required by regulation to ensure that the navigation system is following the proper course across oceanic areas by plotting on a chart. One of the complexities that can occur is Air Traffic Control issue a re-route which necessitates the determination of initial True Tracks and distances between successive waypoints. Normally this is done with a table and can take several minutes, however with this plotter the job is very easy, even on the table provided on the Airbus. Construction of a very high standard.

Great product if it arrives in one piece.
In and of itself I’m sure this would be an exceptional tool. However, I received a broken product. It was snapped in 2 pieces upon receiving. I had really high hopes as I had tried to order a lower quality one from another seller. I received two cracked rulers from that company. I’d really like this particular one but it seems downright obscene for me to waste the resources to return 3 separate broken products so Amazon or Sellers please feel free to contact me if you’re willing to send one without me having to kill trees and remove mountain tops shipping more broken things to people just to prove they’re broken. I have a few cameras if you need pics. For the record, I don’t blame anyone despite it being pretty bad that after 3 months and 3 returns I have 0 functioning parallel rulers. There is a logistical issue with this type of product, I just don’t know if it is storage, fulfillment or the products themselves. I’ll keep using ole faithful (standard ruler) till I hear back.

It Works
Works good. Made out of 1/8" sturdy plastic (probably won't take bending at all). Wheels seem to grip plotting and chart paper reasonably well. It is about 12.5 inches long so you need a bit of room to use it - especially to keep the wheels on a level, gripping surface. It will go in my chart kit and out to sea.
