An excellent meter for this price point.
If you're looking for a 20,000 count meter on a tight budget, then this is likely the one to get I bought it on sale for about $40. This brand has done an impressive job at getting the meter down to this low of a price point for it's quality and its features. At first when I bought it, I didn't like it because it felt like a toy when I bought it. The flashing lights at the inputs and the flashlight made me feel like I was buying a toy. And I wound up purchasing the Uni-T UT61E+, which is definitely a better meter is about all respects. But after owning the Keiweets a little longer I realized it is still a very decent meter. Though I mostly use it on my car, while I use the Uni-T for everything else. Just about everything works about average or better on this. The only thing that I can truly complain about is that if you're using the resistance feature, and you're just measuring the resistance by shorting the leads, it can take several seconds for the reading to settle down. For instance it might read 0.20 Ohms of resistance, and it will take about 10 seconds for the for the measurement to slowly drop down to 0. Which isn't a deal breaker in my opinion. Most measurements seem decently accurate. There are two things I wish the meter had, that most meters with this high of resolution usually have: a Relative button and a manual range button. Which both very helpful when you need them. But at this price point I understand why they left those features out. These decisions likely helped get that low price point. Lastly I thought the leads were a little cheap - they're made with 20 gauge wire instead of usual 18 gauge. But once again, probably done to keep the price point low. And if you look up a tear down video on this meter on YouTube you will find that the input protection is a little limited. But not unexpected for this price point. Really all and all, if you want a high resolution meter, at a great price and aren't too picky about extra features - for instance the lack of a Rel and range button - then this is a fantastic meter selection. The meter even feels good quality in your hands and the dial is solid. And it comes with a decent carrying bag and manual too that fit nicely in the bag.

Generally impressive but came with a poor thermocouple
This is an excellent multimeter in all respects except for the K Type thermocouple that came with it. This seemed to give a reasonable temperature readings at first but if the leads to its banana plugs are wiggled it gave crazy or out of range readings. It's not good practice to connect thermocouple leads directly to banana plugs like this since the leads are special alloys. Instead they should be attached to a special thermocouple plug and then into a banana plug adapter. I tried a proper thermocouple and the reading was correct and rock solid. I wonder if some users think they have a bad multimeter because of this bad thermocouple. A nice but undocumented feature is that, if no thermocouple is plugged in, it defaults to an internal temperature sensor for a reading. Another interesting feature is the non-contact voltage (NCV) sensing. In this mode the multimeter will light up and beep when it's close to a live wire. There's also a "Live" test mode that allows probing with a single lead, giving a similar warning when touching a hot wire. It has a LED flashlight on the back but it's pretty dim. This model has an extra digit of resolution than is typical but situations where this is useful are uncommon. I picked this model mainly because it came with a carry case. It's a keeper so far.

Works flawlessly and offers 4 1/2 digit precision - all at a bargain price.
I have had an HT118A (6000 count) for six years (and counting) and, as an engineer, now wanted the 20000 count accuracy. My new HT118E functions flawlessly, so far. One commenter said it didn't work on amps. But his accompanying photo showed the red test lead was not plugged in all the way! (It takes a firm push.) Ditto for another complainer who couldn't get a reading on continuity. Yet another was annoyed that the meter timed out in long measurement exercises. He apparently didn't read p.10 of the manual which explains how you can override the countdown clock by pressing the FUNC button when turning the unit on. The 118E has somewhat narrower main readout numbers than those on the 118A, to make room for the extra digit for its higher accuracy, but readability is not reduced. Amazon's listed size and weight measurements for the 118A and 118E are different - but this is wrong. The units are the same size and weight; Amazon's numbers are for with the rubber case, and without the case - which leads to the confusion. Overall, I am very pleased with the HT118E - all functions work smoothly, and its 5 digit accuracy (technically, 4 1/2 digits, up to 20000 counts) is phenomenal! The orange screen when testing live circuits over 80v is an excellent safety feature. And at $41, it was an unbeatable buy. Highly recommend.

Solid Build, Great Value
This KAIWEETS digital multimeter is well-built and a great size for easy use. The instruction quality is excellent, and it offers great sensitivity and value for the price. While I haven't fully used it yet, the initial quality and low noise level are impressive.

High Accuracy and Feature Packed
I have used a Fluke 87 for many years but I was beginning to question its calibration and its display is not very readable. The specifications for the Kaiweets HT118E look outstanding at for the price I figured it would be worth trying it. WOW, am I impressed! The design is excellent and it has a very logical user interface. Compared to measurements made with the Fluke, this meter matches 100% accuracy wise and since it has 20,000 counts it has even a higher resolution. The display of the HT118E is large and clear, with excellent backlighting; you could not ask for better. Some of the other reviews have expressed concerns about the mechanical durability of this meter, but to me it appears solidly built and has a tight fitting protective cushioning sleeve. I believe it will last a long time if properly taken care of. This meter uses two internal fuses for protection when measuring current. These fuses are replaceable, but if you use reasonable care they should last the lifetime of the meter. If you need to get to the inside of the meter for any reason, please see my attached video on removing the batteries and protective cover. YouTube has some excellent HT118E videos by Kerry Wong and others. My only complaint is the wrong directions in the instructions for installing the batteries. I followed the instructions and removed the protective sleeve and removed the screws holding on the back cover. As an electrical engineer it was interesting to see the insides of the meter, but there are no batteries there! See my attached photos or video for the proper and rather simple way to install the batteries.

Good price good quality wires aren't bad decent. Case is a little cheese but works for me
I like the meter it works just as well or as my other meter newer technology. The one thing that I do not like is the battery door security screw that you have to use a screw driver to open and close makes it a pain to remove and replace the batteries. Storing batteries installed for a long time is not a wise thing to do put a thumb screw is an upgrade that should have already been there good price quality is good. I use this one All the time now and put my other ten times the amount of this one away cause it's not working so well
